Just your thoughts about the changing from EAC to BEAC. For me it’s not too positive.
As someone who had to install 3rd party software to get rid of this “golden standard” trash cause it wouldn’t let me start ARK, wouldn’t uninstall correctly or let me do a fresh reinstall…can’t wait to stop playing WT due to the same happening
So something as benign as mouse software might be a enough to get perma-banned but WT is not going to tell us what exactly we cant use?
That is scary!
BattleEye has a habit of falsely banning players due to high ping (what it sees as a lag switch), there’s various examples of this on the Tarkov and RS6 community
i know you’re just a community manager, but i implore you guys to rethink this decision, after all of it (EAC) isn’t broken, don’t fix it
Do not use cheats - simple as that.
Is the deployment of BE the same as EAC is currently? Where some false triggers can, if rarely, happen and it just prevents the game from opening, or just closes it if it’s already running?
That gets complicated when WT might consider ‘Logitech G Hub software’ a cheat.
Thats… not what they were saying? They are referring to mouse software that literally comes with your mouse.
Team,
I am playing War Thunder on steam deck. In the one of the last update, GTA Online also added Battle Eye anti cheat and stop providing support to Linux/steam deck players. Will you continue to support this platforms after the update?
mouse software isn’t a cheat, i use a programmable mouse so i can press MB8 but it sends the input for CTRL + NP9 to rangefind or i can press MB5 but the input is sent as RCTRL + NP1 to send “I agree” radio message
this isn’t some rare thing either, a lot of mouses (mice?) have this functionality build in and ready to use out of the box
Hi, in a couple of weeks I am planning to do some more FM testing with the Flanker. Some of the charts available are SEP values for a set G load over a range of speeds. Testing this with a joystick leads to very imprecise results, as it is very hard to hold constant 3G / 5G while the aircraft accelerates.
So my plan is to hook up a PID controller to a virtual joystick, which will control the aircraft for me (after some tuning) to get the required data.
Would this joystick emulator be banned under the new anti-cheat (I don’t even know that for the old one)?
I feel like this moving to BattlEye will cause a massive problems wave and player getting pissed off by BE causing problems to them, may even be permanent bans because of GeForce Experience or an automatic update by Logitech G Hub middle of a match.
Hi, how will the transition be handled for MacOS players? I believe EAC was handled a bit differently on Mac compared to PC, and I don’t remember having to ever install or activate anti-cheat manually.
Same like for others:
Replacing the anti-cheat system on a specific device may take a little time and will happen when launching War Thunder. In the future, when you launch the game, you’ll be greeted by a window with the new anti-cheat system. Globally, the transition will occur gradually in waves, meaning both anti-cheats will be supported for some time. However within a few weeks, we’ll completely switch to BattlEye.
Same as for any anti-cheat software. It’s not aimed at me, so I do not care which one is installed as long as it make cheaters to suffer.
We all agree on cheater need to suffer, but what about innocent people that would somehow get banned by BE for some reason?
ummm no thats not how it works my man it literally states that It only affects war thunder not your computer
BEAC is kernal level and can see the page.sys file and what processes are in active memory, it does have access to your system and its files and what is running and what is interacting with other software
this will always happen nothing is perfect.
Poke me when you get “somehow get banned” and we will check it. Right now you are making up scenarios.
