unless you’re firing from a mig-31 at another mig-31 close to their maximum speeds you can’t have a 40km launch connect in 20s, even for the normal r-73 a 30km launch in 20s is only possible in very optimistic conditions

They are using r73, but also 9m amd 9x, im fairly sure aim9s were confirmed to be involved in one of the shotdowns, also aim9m dont have that poor of maneuverability, especialky considering this is a ground launch.
is there any visual ways to distinguish between an R-73, R-74M or R-74M2 baed on the missile body or any surfaces on them?
M2 has smaller tail, same height as the control surfaces. It also may not have external AOA sensors (but i am unsure because missile shown on expos are mockups, but on the other hand R-73 and R-74M mockups had AOA sensors on them)

Yeah with the dynamic rocket motors Ig gaijin is finally getting around to it.
With the old mechanics of static thrust I thought it was configured well enough considering the limitations, but now with dynamic thrust, it’s Boutta become a lot better
