Either VT4A1 or ZTZ99A and both has a lot of complains by the Chinese player base, but, regardless, at least one would and should be moved up.

m1a1 has worse armor than m1a2, so its lower in br. The vt4 has era that stops sabot, the Abrams doesn’t. oh and gen 1 therms
even vt4 have era,his protect still not good.weakness such as tank turret and tank body seams and crotch are not covered by era .which is same with m1a1hc
Show me the era on the HC? and the turret still has era which has a coinflip chance to stop sabot. Ive had it happen before a bunch
ERA can only protect a small portion. The rest are all weaknesses. It has a much larger area than Abrams.

VT4A1 performance in the game cannot even compete with M1A1AIM. Its actual performance is only worth 11.0. ZTZ99A too.
and these issues still need to be fixed. the most important part is the hull. lack of armor thickness.

Have to say. The weaker the vehicle, the more cautious the player will be when playing with it, and then camping, resulting in higher efficiency, Gaijin won’t buff those vehicles anymore, until no one wants to play with those garbage, such as ZTZ99A, VT4, WZ1001, Leclerc, Ariete. They even have higher winrate than Russian, Germany and U.S., Everyone knows why except Gaijin :(

Idk, not with my experience. Ive had era stop shots, or at least keep me alive to use my reverse gear and run. With the abrams most of the time you get shot and lose you gun and engine so, your toast.
Should be same with VT-4, although I am still grinding it, I do have enough games in MBT2K to say the hull is not that helpful, the chance of the UFP being hit is small, coupled with uptiers when everything pens. Abrams, well, turret ring is a weakspot, but I never shoot at it, cause too risky, it could also just outright eat the shot, even ATGMs and run away or fire back. I would say armour wise similar, but Abrams have better turret, depression, mobility, firepower and survivability, VT-4 has better thermals and APS. Overall I will definitely take M1A2 over VT4, Clickbait, no so sure.
M1a2 doesn’t have hull armor, just cuts through. At the top of the vt4s upper plate i could understand frustration of it penning but for the Abrams you even look at it and it dies. Ive survived more on the top tier Chinese tanks than the abrams.
