Thirty-four F4U-2 night fighters were converted from existing F4U-1 airframes. An A1A radar antenna was installed inside a pod mounted on the leading edge of the right wing, and the radar scope was added at the center of the instrument panel. To balance the radar, the right outboard gun was deleted. These F4U-2s are assigned to VF(N)-101, and they are preparing to launch from USS ENTERPRISE, CV-6, for a raid against Truk. (USN via Jones)

Would be a bit of a niche but would still be cool.

+1, I’d love a corsair with an A1A radar!

+1 for more carrier operations!
