Vote: Shouldnt Finland-Sweden tree be on axis side in ww2 era ground simulator battles?

nor can sweden really be with allies in ww2.

Sweden could, given they shipped iron ore to germany.

All irrelevant as WT mixes and matches sides

no the inventor of sim ground battles wanted a clear separation between ww2 and cold war with allies vs axis and communists vs nato. however, at that time there were fewer nations (no sweden, no israel, no china…) and fewer captured vehicles.

Even with china/isreal its really easy to assign sides.

China: WW2 for allies, cold war with the east

Israel: WW2 for allies, cold war with the west

Sweden: WW2 for axis, cold war with the west

Captured tanks do be wack though, honestly just plaster a giant symbol on the front during sim and its fine

The fact that it is possible to go with israel in the first sim mode is enough to prove that ww2, allies and all this argument stuff is useless, and more, the idea of it being about ww2 unfortunately died already when they added cold war vehicles to the mode… For me, i’d like to see only ww2 stuff, maybe finland with some soviet or german vehicle, but sweden and israel… they killed this mode for me :(

Agreed, tho Israel isnt even in the br range where there could be Sweden-Finland on axis side. Sweden-finland should be 1-3rd rank axis. While Israel starts with 4th rank.

I would also prefer only ww2 stuff vs ww2 stuff but I understand why those after ww2 tanks mix with late ww2 as some nations would not be competative with only those things designed or used during ww2 than other nations. Also very much depends how one takes ww2 stuff. As some things like “chinese” ww2 tanks were not really used durring ww2 but were captured from surrended japan or given to china mainly after ww2 and it fought its civil war with it. Same with french that would basically have only those tanks before fall of france. And same for this battlepass swedish king tiger. It was captured after ww2 and used for testing. etc. etc.

What game are you even playing because WT is not historical ,its mixed up madness and has been for years.

At least simulators should have the sides somewhat correct. Theres no fixing realistics or arcades but simulators could get better with this simple fix.

I would even like to split China and Germany making them available for the East and the West simultaneoisly with different vehicles being available for each side.

That way GDR T-72s, Mig-21s and Mi-24s would be on the pact side, where they belong.
They might need the addition of some more vehicles though.

I’m sure this is possible. Sim works based on a list of allowed vehicles already. So all they would need to do would be put Germany on both teams but differentiate between the vehicles that are allowed for selection.

However, I don’t see this happening any time soon.

Well idk how would this cold war work tho as conflict here is just hypothetical and I highly doubt if a war broke out at the time east germans would like fighting west germans. Also its complicated how would the match itself work if someone have vehicles from both sides in his lineup. Also there are not many east germany vehicles to my knowlage. I usally play ww2 era which can be substantiated by an actuall conflict so the sides are obvious.

Also not sure why split china. As they really only fought aggainst each other before ww2 (tho there were no tanks or planes) and right after ww2 (usally with lend lease vehicles). In ww2 they fought japan so I would keep them on allied side. In cold war theres again issue of not many democratic chinese/taiwanese vehicles in the tree to make for opposing lineup.

So I dont think spliting tree is really possible at the moment. But Finland/sweden tree needs to change for the ww2 era.

In Sim the split would actually be easy.

Add the nation to both sides.

Make East German/Chinese vehicles available on the pact side

Make West German/Taiwanese vehicles available on the Nato side

The trees need to be more fleshed out though.

Yeah that would work in air sim battles where you have just 1 plane used. Tho in tanks when you have whole lineup and there are not many Taiwanaese or East german to make lineup.

hell yeah sweden vs ussr

In setups WW2 TSB, three nations face off against seven. Moving Sweden to the Axis will improve the balance and reduce queues for Allies.
p.s. Sweden was as “neutral” then as it is now.

Though it does have finland as a subtree, which was part of the axis.

Was Finland really part of the axis? I thought, they never wanted to be associated with them, but they were at war with the SU and received support from the axis.

That being said, Sweden definitely belongs on the axis side in WWII scenarios.

Finland was starving and needed food, germany was the only nation willing to sell them food so they joined an alliance.
