A good way to solve this is to put Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam into one group
Yes, Vietnamese don’t like China even though they supported Vietnam during the war but after that they started an invasion on the North Vietnam just 4 years after the unification of Vietnam
South Korea also waged War against Vietnam. They had hundreds of thousands of troops in Vietnam during the Vietnam War in total with an one-time high of over 50.000 and they were considered the most brutal among both US and Vietnamese Forces…commiting multiple massacres in Villages for example.
Which they did because Vietnam invaded Cambodia, which was an Ally of China, during the height of the Sino-Soviet Split. Not to justify it but they didn’t just do it out of random or dislike of Vietnam.
The USA at the time also supported Cambodia and China during the War.
Vietnam doesn’t need to be in the Game. Subtrees are also the absolute last thing they should do. Everyone just flooded with Copy-Paste Subtree Slop and getting everything from everyone due to that largely decreases the quality of the Game. It strips away the entire individuality of each Tree and makes some Line Ups of the original Nation less worth to be played than that Nations own Tanks in another Nations Tree because there you can have both thanks to Subtrees.
Ok and? How is this relevant to what I said? You’re implying Vietnam still hates SK or the US, when the current tensions are with China (and Taiwan) over the South China Sea.
Vietnam’s invasion of Cambodia was a response to repeated Khmer Rouge attacks across the border, which killed several thousand civilians. China invasion wasn’t a random act and the claim that China’s actions weren’t partially motivated by dislike of Vietnam is oversimplifying, but that doesn’t change the reason of why Vietnam acted.
I’m stopping here, this is getting political, and that’s not what I was trying to discuss. Honestly, all this can be hand wave away by Gaijin implementing country folder instead of just throwing them into the tt with no thought.

The Soviet tech tree is almost about to explode, the Chinese tech tree has too much political-historical controversy, the Japanese tech tree has nothing connected, so the Israeli tech tree is probably the most promising and “least controversial” candidate.
Add horizontal slide bar for USSR would be crazy

Vietnam doesnt seem to offer a whole lot as a sub-tree unless its for copy paste fillers, which i dont really see a need for in the USSR atm
At best you could possibly spread it out between both USSR and China as needed
Or maybe they have a lot of modified vehicles thats unique to them that ive simply missed
