I’ve been experiencing this issue with War Thunder for the past few weeks, and it’s been almost a month now. During every match, my game keeps freezing, sometimes up to three times per match, and I can’t figure out why. After I alt-tab back into the game, it shows an error message saying, ‘Video driver hung and was restarted,’ and the texture quality remains low. I’ve set my graphics settings to the lowest possible, but the freezing still persists. I’m using an RTX 2080 Ti with 24 GB of RAM, and the game is installed on my E drive. I never had this problem before, and it’s making the game unplayable.
Use a program called Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), use it CAREFULLY. Watch a video, read a guide, uninstall and reinstall your drivers properly, and this should fix this problem.
I had the same issue, even getting Kernal level OS errors resulting in BSOD that was ultimately fixed doing a clean installation of drivers using this method.
Again, Follow the directions CLOSELY.
or just don’t do any of that if you don’t know how to and use your GPU manufacturer’s display driver updater
that would be the first step (just reinstall normally), if persists then DDU
AMD users have been having this issue since the last major update. I don’t know if it’s the same for you.

Right on buddy, whatever you think.
Those “Driver updater’s” from your GPU’s manufacturer are notorious for creating registry conflicts due to subpar and incomplete uninstallations.
I’m going to reinstall and play one game. If the issue still happens, I’ll try your method. Hopefully, it works—if it does, I’m going to kiss you!
Better than doing something wrong with your PC when you don’t know what you’re doing and potentially bricking it
Yeah, I reinstalled my game, and I think it fixed itself. If it happens in the future, I’ll try what W0ckySlush recommended.
still good ?
Nah, problem still not gone.
