I’ve had the exact same issue. Only since the the last major update I’ve had the problem, at first I didn’t think much of it but slowly It started to cause concern.
All temps are fine but it did cause a critical error. I’ve looked it up and people are saying its to do with full screen and windowed full screen helps when tabbing out.
Only problem is though I’ve had the issue randomly happen on the game starting and sometimes not at all. I have friends also with the same issue and some people in a war thunder discord complaining of the same thing. You are not alone and its for sure not your pc since its started to happen with the update.

I’ve used DDU now and it didn’t fix it… Restarting the game doesn’t help anymore either, same thing every launch.
Is this a War Thunder or Nvidia bug?

Has anyone crashed since the last game update?
Samething here with 546.17. roll back driver same problem. Replace power supply, same problem.

Same here.
I deleted all local files of War Thunder and uses DDU for a fresh install of the Nvidia driver.
After a few games playing i get this nice blue screen again.

All the 546’s are buggy. Even the 546.33
I replaced the power supply and then the graphics card. Still same problem.
Back up to 537.58

Just happened to me again after several weeks of it not crashing on start… This is a very strange bug.

Well, I hadn’t seen a crash since February until yesterday. Now I can’t even open the game without the same error appearing along with HDR getting messed up…

Yes, I’ve been getting this in the last few days (maybe week?)
From the original post title though, I hadn’t updated any drivers. It just started happening. There’s been a few Warthunder updates around the same time so not sure if it was something in there. I don’t think I’ve had any relevant Windows updates in the same time.
I’ve tried updating geforce drivers but it’s still happening.
I either get the “video driver hung…” message, or worse the OS just bugchecks and does a full restart. I think they’re related as they both started around the same time.
Edit: Once I get in the game I haven’t had any issues, it’s just after logging in and the loading to hangar.
Are you also on Windows 11 with HDR enabled?

Same here, playing for hours with no problems only when login into the game.
I am also playing other games with no issues so I don’t think is due to my PC
I found this Reddit post the other day and disabled Auto HDR for War Thunder only. Haven’t seen a crash since despite PC restarting and updating, but we’ll see.
There’s a bug report going on in here if you want to add to it.
I aready have it disabled but unfortuantlly still get the problem.

I have this problem since the last big update, not even Nvidia here, AMD integrated with no HDR
Yesterday i started to get the same problem and i cant even play 2 matches before i get hit with that bug, its annoying and its affecting the gameplay also, this has never happened to me before so i thought other games was affected aswell but when i decided to play for example titanfall 2 with high graphics it didnt affect none at all and i reseted multiple times to no vail, so i hope war thunder fixes this bug.
Started happening to me yesterday, only thing that changed was a game update for the new battle pass.
