New week, a new selection of informative videos about very different vehicles! This time featuring the American B-25 bomber, the Swedish Gripen fighter, the Thai version of the F-5, and the German Jagdpanzer 4-5 tank destroyer.
Don’t forget, you can now use video subtitles!
B-25: Utility and Versatility
In the late 1930s, the U.S. Army Air Corps faced an acute shortage of modern bombers. With the world sliding toward a global conflict, military planners understood that waging war successfully would require a wholesale renewal of the bomber fleet.
Saab Gripen: Swedish Success
Not long after the end of the Cold War, Sweden adopted a new multirole fighter — the Saab 39 Gripen. Light, affordable, and easy to produce, the Gripen not only became the backbone of the Swedish Air Force but also found success on the international market. Saab’s design philosophy proved to be the right choice: the Gripen emerged as one of the most capable and cost-effective fighters of its generation.
Thunder Show: TURTLE CARRY
In this episode, you’ll see that while luck is important, in the end, everything depends on your skill and perseverance.
Super Tigris: Remarkable Longevity
The history of military aviation knows machines that stayed in service far longer than even their designers could have imagined. The American F-5A first took to the skies back in 1959. Its second generation, the F-5E, flew in 1972. And our hero appeared just seven years ago and is currently flying active duty with the Royal Thai Air Force. Meet the F-5TH TCU, better known as the Super Tigris.
Jagdpanzer 4-5: A Fresh Take on a Classic
The concept of self-propelled tank destroyers emerged shortly before the Second World War and, one might think, died with it. Such vehicles made sense when armies needed large numbers of fighting machines in a hurry without sacrificing too much capability. Once the postwar lull arrived and states could prepare for future conflicts more deliberately, the appeal of tank destroyers waned.
