Vehicle addition inconstancy

No i read it and i responded because i was staying on topic which is a forum rule and just because you guys had gone off topic doesnt mean incouldnt address it.

I responded because this kind of discussion or topic pops up on the weekly basis, so listing the reasons clearly might help prevent even just one person bringingnit up again.

They made the promise to not dive into that

but look they broke it, you call that “natural progression” I call that a bunch of lies

First off, the boat portion was the initial focus but I was also discussing the game wide application of design vehicles. when the first four people said boats got treated differently, I changed the topic to the air and ground inconstancy as that was still part of it, as such changed the title and added an edit for newcomers.

Second, that won’t stop other people from bringing this up. contrary to what you seem to believe, most players don’t live in the forms, thus never see these posts. Gijian never says boats are treated different in any official manner. that lives only in forms and rare comments, which most of us don’t engage with, partially due to people like you, who get snarky with people for trying to get information.

If you read the opening text, including the edit, and read any of the discussion, and that was all you had to say, than you had nothing to add and could have simply not said anything.

The devs have stated in 2 developer question and answers 1 may have been an interview but not limited to forum discussions that ships have their own rules as i mentioned. So with that said this is a thread created on the forum, being read by people on the forum, beingnconteibuted to by people on the forum so to try and say itndoesnt matter because not everyone uses the forum has no value here.

If I recall the hull was built but not the turret. somebody later just dropped a regular panther turret on it to make a museum exhibit.

gaijin making anything and saying fuck it we ball

their sources for stuff? it came to them in a dream

Wouldn’t the hull make it applicable for gajins rules? I know that the current one is inaccurate, but shouldn’t be replaceable by the partially finished hull?

See, I didn’t know about that being mentioned in the Q&A, but what’s crazy, is nobody bothered to mention that. instead, I get some people being helpful and adding to the conversation, and then a bunch of people like you just resaying the same thing while being snarky because they want to stroke their ego. I love that you still evaded the fact that what you said had already been agreed upon and moved on from, and that we were discussing a different point that was still part of the main discussion. what were you saying about “has no value”? put down your ego, and respond to people interacting with the forms with less toxicity, that’s how you get more people to not say the same thing, by making the forms less shitty to interact with. Not by acting better than people. Thankfully, a good few people in this discussion have actually been both helpful and insightful, learn from them maybe.

anyway this is now way off topic. DM me if you want, though I probably won’t respond since I don’t check back here often if ever.

well their current stance for ground, though a bit shaky, was that a full metal prototype must exist. the panther II as it appears in game didn’t exist in that configuration. iirc, the “Panther II” was mostly a testbed, so didn’t have an official configuration.

The rangefinder is from an early Tiger II mock up of the main production Turret.
And the gun would have fit, its just in game a basic gun model, the recoil cilinders were under the gun, like the 7,5 cm KwK 44 L/70.

My initialnpost literally mentioned the devs and their standard for naval in the first sentence. There was no hostility or attitude just a statemrnt of facts to quickly address the topic and answer why its not an issue for the games rules.

Unlike your multiple responses to myself and other people which have been repeatedly rude.

I think they want to remove anything that was not at minimum a completed prototype, which would mean the turret would have had to have been built and fitted.
for example the R2Y2, all the components where at least proto typed for at least the version 1 in game, the air airframe flew as the R2Y Keiun and the engines where produced, but there was never an attempt to actually fit them to the airframe. and that was insufficient for it to remain.

I see your point. I’m was thinking that because they passed the KRV, which while it wasn’t fully completed, it did have a functioning turret and hull made

Also bringing up wargaming should be fine as it was brought up a batch in the most recent dev blog comparing wows to naval (as well as the abominations wows has in the form of hybrid battleships)

Ah, that makes sense. and yeah I figured the gun fitting wasn’t the main issue. the concept was made by experienced tank designers, I doubt they’d put forward something that isn’t possible lol. Also correct me if I’m wrong, the issue that got the project canned was the use of two piece ammo. mainly the lack of benefit over the increased reload and ammo stowage space needed.

I just prefer to avoid advertising a competitor in the forums as a matter of manners, but it’s where the info is.

The gun wouldnt fit because not only does it need the breach and recoil space but you need the room for the crew and space to load ammunition. The idea and sketch beingnpassed around was thoughtbup but was completelybdismissed for this reason. In game the breach use to fill the turret, they shrunk the model to fit it in the tanks model.

actually really good info, and yeah the panther II is an interesting story. I do hate to say it, but what of other design vehicles that are still ingame, like the Ho-Ri? it just feels like maybe gijian can loosen the rules a little bit? I don’t want WoT slop tanks, but I’d hate to see stuff like the Ho-Ri go, and feel like the R2Y2 and Tiger 105 can have a place in game. their all vehicles I own so it wouldn’t change much for me, but I’ve introduced a good few people to the game that I wish could get them too.

It wasnt put forward, they dismissed it. Notice the sketches have no internal designs just an external view of what it might look like. They themselves realised it wouldnt fit.

at the top of my head like F16AJ and both Ho-Ris

gun size was never the issue, as far as I’ve read (source : entz, Thomas; Doyle, Hilary (1997). [Germany’s Tiger Tanks – Vk45 to Tiger II: Design, Production & Modifications) though digital copies are a bit sparse and I have a paper copy. the concern was on implementation of two piece ammunition, if the source is to be believed.
