After the most recent major update, the Vautour bombers have only gotten worse and near unplayable. You constantly get matched with the new Yak-130. The Yak-130 beats the Vautours in almost every way. The only thing it lacks is payload sized which for bombing doesn’t matter since it gets napalm while the Vautours do not. They have better acceleration performance that allows them to gap and beat a Vautour that has a minimal load for a base. You’re either facing them in which they simply intercept you as you go to your base or you’re matched with them in which case you’re not getting a base at all since they can carry enough napalm for 2 bases. How and why Gaijin thinks the Vautours deserve a runway spawn and to be placed at 9.0 where you face vehicles better than you in every way is beyond me. At the very least it could use an interceptor spawn like the 8.3 Vautour but Gaijin refuses to give it even that.
As everything else in the game gets fixed and rebalanced, the Vautours are always left behind and forgotten, much like the non-US F-84Fs.
Side climb and wait for the bases to respawn?
Takes too long. In similar BR jets, where Ive tried that, im either dead or the match is over before that happens.
What they need to do is drop the respawn time down from 5 minutes to 3 minutes and/or make the forward AFs modular like we have in ASB, so you can at least dump bombs on that for some payout.
But War Thunder needs a total PvE overhaul (because its not just ARB, ASB and probably AAB are lack luster gameplay too)
Or y’know, bring back the old respawn time + better targets for true bombers.
It’s a joke that they have the current time to respawn when nigh every fighter is carrying enough ordnance to glass a base, at a significantly higher speed.
Definetly long term fix, but short term changes that oculd be implemented tomorrow if they could be bothered… respawn timer reduction and modular AFs would do
Current state should be considered a crime. Even if you’re in a bomber with a decent payload and speed to reach bases (e.g. tu 95), you won’t be able to drop and climb again before your team wipes the bases or gets wiped followed by you being eaten. Just a travesty.

I cant play it because I dont have the jets. But apparently this korean war event is just F-86s bombing targets and ignoring the Mig-15s and not protecting the bombers :D
Well, I hate that. Unfortunately, checks out for that sect of the playerbase.
Which is a joke, fighters could get plenty if gaijin bothered to incentivise escorting bombers, and could have a more engaging fight if bombers were appropriately survivable and gunners reached out further.
It was bad enough before. I was ripping out my hair out of frustration when playing the first vautour. I was constantly getting beat to bases by fucking F-100s and ending matches with 0 score because the thing does not even get guns.
