USS Montana discussion

It was claimed barrels were made for, but they are soon transferred to other ships so not specific anymore. And even tracing them are impossible now

You talking about this gun?? USA 5"/54 (12.7 cm) Mark 16 - NavWeaps

It is claimed that some 16’’ barrels were made for Montana but later transferred to Iowa class

Kronshtadt has a real hull but entirely paper, fictional guns that never existed, though, so I think the Montana has a paper hull but uses 100% real, physically manufactured, and service-tested gun barrels. So I think it could be added, in my opinion

Yeah, I don’t see why not

and if Japan got this added: Ship number 798 - Super Yamato(A-150 battleship) then i think US need something to counter it if the super yamato is powerful.

Edit: The Sovetsky suppose to be at the same category (super battleships) as Montana and A-150 Yamato, so why was it added to the game when other nation has no match against it?

Not like it’s any more completed than the others, anyway

If anything paper based should be added, considering we have Sovetsky Soyuz in game, and Germany, france, italy dont have 8.7 ships, I think something like H-39 or Alcase would be better addition currently than adding Montana. So Imo Montona… Not yet.

it will be not. It has same weakness as Yamato

Not in the same category as ‘super battleship’ is not official category

Montana, A150, H-39, Sovetsky, and lion. Not sure about France’s Alsace as not a single piece of screw is made. The others were started or specific part of the ship were made.

I know it not official but If they are around or more then 60,000 Tons then they are just something different then a normal battleship.

Montana - Kremlin - A-150

it was laid down just like any other project ship in the game

Kremlin is a project that didn’t get past proposal. It will never be added.

H39 was laid down to a degree and guns were built (later used as costal defense). The question is if she’ll get the 40.6cms or upbored to 42cms.

Montana is a really weird case since the powerplant was used for (Lexington, iirc? Intrepid? I don’t remember outside for a carrier) and the guns for the Iowas.

Which means all if the defacto parts that were for Big Monty can’t be ‘proven’.

It surely could be added the 127MM mark 16 were built specifically only for the Montana without the montana design this guns will never exist.

It wouldn’t matter. They’re both paperships at the end of the day.

Midway class carriers and JMSDF destroyers: excuse me?

As much as I’d love to see Montana-class BBs in-game, unfortunately, they cannot be added unless Gaijin changes the rules and adds paper ships in-game.

guns are real actually they made 12 of them

here are soyuz

montana can never be added as she does not exist in any meaningful capacity

the russian ships where atleast laid down and had guns

its not like USS MONTANA is even needed tho since the IOWA second strongest ship in game

That’s not the definition; Paper means nothing was constructed nor laid down. IE Kremlin, UP41, Tillmans, etc
