Noting that 'USS Colorado (BB-45) will be in War Thunder’s ‘Hornet’s Sting’ update, there’s without doubt that…two other ‘Colorado-class’ battleships will be in-game by proxy as well. And they’re the two that were in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked there on December 7th, 1941:
USS Maryland (BB-46) & USS West Virginia (BB-48). The 4th ship in this class, USS Washington (BB-47), had her hull 3/4ths completed…& that’s as far as she got. The incomplete hull was expended as a floating target to determine the value of her armor protection against aerial bombs & shellfire.
And the story of USS West Virginia (BB-48) cannot be forgotten when it comes to the heroism of a famous Navy steward…who was serving aboard her on Dec. 7th, 1941: Mess Attendant 2nd Class Doris Miller, the 1st African-American sailor serving in the segregated Navy to receive the Navy Cross for bravery.
So…what the players have coming to them next update…is more than just one story about one ship. It’s a long line of them…from a US Navy battleship class that is as old as time itself!!!

Will they roll out another Ger BB as well? Stras, Warspite, Colorado are coming or already arrived via grind event. Just Ger is left out and is stuck with underwhelming Scharn.

Is the Strasbourg really a problem here?
(3 BB and 1 Cruiser at 7.0 with good 38cm main caliber and 1 insane Cruiser (Sharnhorst) isn’t something I’ll call “left out”)

The german WW1 BBs / BC Baden/Bayern/Schlesien/Yorck tend to immeadetly explode when hit by 40cm shells (Mutsu and some more). No chance.

??? You are calling Baden good,when in fact its bad, just like Strasbourg is bad. And Germany is in huge need of actual 7.0 BB, Tirpitz or Bismarck are long overdue. Just like Italy is in need of Roma or Vittorio Veneto.

Germany enjoy Sharnhorst for a long time, when French navy suffered for a long time now. Maybe German are in a bad shape compared to USA or Russia, I really don’t know, but France is N°1 in need of 7.0.
I can understand that german player want more stuff, but there is no comparison here.
In this case, people need a lil bit of objectivity 😒

Its a weak BB hull with just cruiser sized guns. Its the weakest of all 7.0 BB.
Scharnhorst is the Strongest 7.0 BB in game by quite a margin. Most nations are still trying to get ships that can actually fight it.

Since 40cm guns are soon pretty much 7.0 standard for most naval tech trees, Scharn’s 28cm guns are way off.
Doesnt matter. Scharnhorsts guns are more than enough to deal meaningful damage to any other top tier BB and has both a decent RoF and Accuracy but even 16" guns from ships like Rodney cant pen Scharnhorsts armour most of the time. Hopefully with the massive increase in accuracy we are getting, it might finally be possible to aim for the microscopic weakspot Scharnhorst has and we can finally counter her,
But for the last 2 or 3 years. Scharnhorst has been and has remained the meta ship. The top dog. The most powerful ship in the game, and the one that is widely considered to be the ship that ruined top tier naval balance.
We are still awaiting ships of equal spec, like HMS King George V.
