Funny enough the source for spall liners on the CATTB was found unintentionally during the search for the Abrams spall liners.

Think the turret armour of CATTB was like 1 meter or something. But bussel armour was lowered to save weight.
Was very unintentional from me; the finite stress analysis stuff is really solid source of info on the CATTB’s turret as a whole.

Don’t forget the part where it is the sole MBT confirmed to have an RWR system, thereby allowing it to counter AT-15 Springer ATGMs guided by radar beam, and AGM-114L longbow hellfire. M1 CATTB would be the unopposed king of meme prototypes that actually hit the ground running.
While some Obj 490 variants (specifically the quad tracked door wedge) theoretically are superior, they’d have to exist in steel to prove that.

I go back and forth on that.
Pros:
- Ludicrous penetration (if fitted with 140mm).
- Even the turret sides won’t be an easy penetration.
- Turret spall liners.
- Roof immune to 125mm HE.
- Isn’t actually all that heavy.
- Hydropneumatic suspension.
- Even the turret sides will be difficult to penetrate.
- You can spam smoke dischargers for all eternity.
Cons:
- Slightly modified base M1A1 hull (armour).
- Same turret ring weakspot.
- Possibly a slightly longer reload, as sources state between 5-6 seconds.
- Could be added as the 120mm version instead of the 140mm.
I also doubt it’d be implemented without it’s counterparts, and that likely means the Object 477A which I personally think is better suited to War Thunder’s meta.
That’s not true though, on the old forum there were already suggestions for the CATTB, the documents which include references to the spall liners have been being shared for years and years now, but it wasn’t discussed yet because spall liners weren’t relevant to War Thunder back then.

I mean with how bad the survive rate of ZTZ96A and ZTZ99A (the most played vehicles) in their respective BR, I am surprised that China still has win rate. Most people are out of points after 2 deaths anyhow.

Have you gotten spall liner yet, I’m sure you have.
There are multiple problems with USA top tier.
- Gaijin totally screwed up when they added top tier premiums like Click Bait, Leopard 2PL etc… they shouldnt be in game. Top tier should be only for experienced players and not for newbies whos buy Click Bait pack and get wrecked… they know nothing about the game and most of the times its their only tank and these people are like 40-50% of the USA teams and these people are useless.
- Russia is dominating Air right now, the SU-39, Su-24sm, Su-27sm are flying in the air and killing others like there is no threat to them… and yes there actually isnt… ADATS is old and nerfed and its not that good almost useless. The only thing that can kill russian jets are American Jets but they are afraid of russias Pancir S1. So yes, Russia is dominating in everything and has the most modern versions of tanks in the game.
- Russia has spall liner on T-90M and yes Abrams doesnt have that but Abrams has it integrated in his armor. They should have kevlar in their armor but they doesnt in the game. Gaijin just doesnt care about other nations expect russia.
- I´m playing this game for a while now and i think i am not that bad player and playing Abrams is the hardest thing to do right now. You need to know what you are about to do and read the battle right or you dead… in russian tank you dont care that much, cuz you got bunch of comrades watching your back in KA-50, KA-52 and Jets… Plus Russian tanks got really good Armor and are much harder to kill than Abrams.
- Show USA Abrams some love Gaijin! And give us proper SPAA already.
- Maybe move top tier to 12.7 and leave premiums on 11.7?
- Dont put Russia, Sweden and germany in one team…

Plz do grind it first, US air is incredibly powerful, although looking at AG weapons still inferior to Russia, but you can use AMRAAM ( not accounting new Su34, but also there is F15E)
US ground is like most other ground, ( not German, Sweden or USSR) so try and let them rush.
He didn’t said that US Airforce in this game is weak. But he point out that while Russian has support from things like Pantsir S1 US still has to roll out things like ADATS which has worst AA capability than Pantsir S1 (in term of Radar and missiles) (Not to mention Pantsir S1 Radar still give no warning due to Gaijin not giving modern RWR that can detect Pantsir S1 radar to plane yet)
Imagine trying to dogfight against someone while having to be on the look out on incoming missiles constantly . This mean US pilot have to work more to achive the same or better result compare to playing Soviet in GRB when both side spawn SPAA.
This is also an issue for other nations too not just US.

I was just suggesting US air instead of SPAA, which we all know how useless ADATS is.
Everyone suffers from Pantsir but Mavericks’ FnF ability can allow some counter, although I don’t play US air, I do play F16A so after a few game of CAS I do feel the pressure of K band radar but still, better than trying with ADATS
Yes, you are right. USA CAS are the best in the game i know it. But my point is that 70% USA players does not have top tier cas to help them. And players that only play ground then doesnt even have chance to take down the russian jet or any jet of other nations, well they got ADATS but good luck with that on 6km and above.

Also the issue with Clickbait, without a top tier premium MBT win rate will be so much higher. As seen with stupid Leclercs still having the highest WR

The issue with Clickbait or top tier premium isn’t somethings exclusive to US only. But due to a lot of people buying Clickbait a lot more than others.
In ARB match this problem got reduce by having both team has mix-up team everynow and then.
I believe Gaijin can and should remodel Match-maker to be able to create a match where both team has the same number of 1 death leaver or premium players. But in Gaijin eyes that would hurt their beloved “que time”

Clickbait players are the cancer of this game and the main reason why most people stopped playing USA top tier, god i hate them so much.

Yes! Perfect example! :) You will lost 1/2 in the first 4min of the match and then you will get surrounded by enemies and its over… They really need to do something with the matchmaking too.

I dont want to play with teams that are made from Click Baits only.
This premium spam should be stopped, enough is enough.
Further BR decompression will do, top tier go 13.0, CAS go 14.0.
BR decompression are good but it would only help against up-tier problem Not much help when the team has full stack of 1 death-leaver.
