it is still artificially nerfed through the floor as both Flares and Chaff and should be at a minimum restored to its former performance. If not buffed all the way up to its IRL performance. Its stupid that they insist upon “historically accuracy” with such Zealotry and then allow such a blatantly fake representation to exists. What next? ASRAAMs limited to 5km range because “balance”?
i think the game would be in a better place if they didnt add the F-15I which led to the F-15E getting PW229 engines, which is what made it so good. a PW220 F-15E would still strike perfectly fine

F15C late would have done better BVR doesnt get you as many kills as WVR does only people who die to BVR are people who cant notch basically like F/A-18C earlys on launch
It is still a stronger airframe than what 3 nations currently have and then ontop of that the US has 2 perfectly fine alternatives in the F-18C and F-16C.
This idea the US is required to be meta is rather wierd.
all airframes that are old as hell with none of the next gen stuff why you think there 13.7 not saying they need to meta but atleast on par which F15E isnt neither is F16C your best shot is the F15C
an F-15C late wouldnt be meta probably, it would be nicer to use though
to be fair americans/nato planes are stuck with imo the worst fox 3s for wvr, the amraan which really holds them back. give them a missile with better hobs and i bet they would be doing much better

Yep, which is why I think Gen 5 IRs would be a good addition sooner rather than later. Though Aim-9X would still be pretty low down in terms of performance
doesnt C-5 get some sort of HOBS improvement either as part of it or carried over from earlier C model? if they fixed C-5 that would solve a lot of issues or at least help

yea because its classified most planes have fantasy numbers in this game
I dont see any way of balancing the current imbalance between Magic II/R-73 and Aim-9M without adding ASRAAM, IRIS-T, P-4/5, etc.
That kind of HOBS is the best bet for us.
But lock range limits and not modeling IIR would balance things out enough
