But a whole Italy is a really bad tech tree
Italy might be the only country in War Thunder where light vehicles are more useful than tanks, but at least they are all unique, and the Ariete tank looks really beautiful. I grind the Italian tech tree purely because I think the Ariete C1 looks great.

Regarding the discussion about AIR SIM, apart from Russia’s top fighter jets, the JAS39 honestly struggles as well. The lack of missiles is one issue, but the worst part is its low thrust-to-weight ratio. Currently, the biggest advantage of the Typhoon, Rafale, and F-15E is their high thrust-to-weight ratio, giving them a significant BVR advantage. The only real advantage of the JAS39 right now is its decent HUD. Honestly, I’m not sure how Sweden can improve on this, because even with the F414 engine and two extra missiles in the JAS39 NG, I don’t think it can compete with the Typhoon or Rafale. The good news is that Italy now has the Typhoon, so there’s no need to grind the Hungarian sub-tree anymore.
I don’t play top tier U.S. anymore unless I’m crew locked…

I stopped playing US and went for Russia, then some others and settled on my sweet spot, Japan. Cant deal with the 0/2 premium spam.
The recently updated storm waning, using the South African JAS39C to grind the UK’s Typhoon FGR4, is truly a painful experience. You can’t catch up with anyone, and the Darter missile’s range might even be worse than the R77. However, Sweden might have a chance to acquire Finland’s legacy Hornet, or they could potentially add Denmark’s or Norway’s aircraft in the future. I’m just speculating.
But muh, what about “unbalanced” us planes, that are in Italy?
Haha, so you feel the same way! Once again, I sincerely apologize for some of the offensive things I said. Because sometimes, you really start to wonder what US MAIN is doing, and it can make your blood pressure rise.
The worst thing about Ariete tanks is a lack of more or less precise and reliable information about their protection, so they’ve stuck in this condition for a while, where for example WAR additional armor in the game is 5.5 t of “heavy air” which protects against KE worse than Kontankt-1, despite it’s exactly what it’s made for.
And in this condition they are trying to push it as high in br as possible giving it DM53 and RoF buff.
The JAS39 does not struggle in sim and has never struggled in sim. It is still one of the best fighters in the game for the way that the vast majority of players fly which is at low altitudes and using terrain to fool radar missiles. The only thing that sort-of holds back the British Gripen is just the fact that the R-Darter is effectively a short range missile like the R-77…but it’s HOBS capabilities makes it fairly effective for counter-launches and the Gripen turn rate + energy retention + metric ton of countermeasures means that it can readily defeat a lot of radar missiles and afford to push even closer to its targets.
Heck…the Air Superiority Final was a match where 6 out of 8 planes were Gripens. Even with the addition of Rafale and Typhoon…the Gripen is still the 2nd best dogfighter at top tier and it is only readily beaten by the Typhoon.

I can only say about F-84F not having airspawn and CL-13 Mk.4 sitting higher compared to its analog F-86A-5. Others are mostly fine. Pastabolt is very cool)
PS although the saddest thing about “Italian Americans” is massacred F-16ADF, which doesn’t represent Italian ADF at all with AIM-7M instead of AIM-120.
The main issue I might have encountered is caused by the South African JAS39. I will try the Swedish JAS39C because it has four AIM-120s. However, I admit that during the AIM-9M meta, the JAS39 was the best plane in AIR SIM.

imagine losing with a tank like the STRV 122b. and then having 2 other tanks like it. There are people with a 99% win Rate as sweden.
It doesn’t matter how good you are but if team is garbage you gonna lose anyways
You can kill 7 tanks without losing one but if team is total garbage it gonna end up lose.
