Since in the recent dev server changelog, the Isreali F-15I recieved the SPICE 250 bombs. The US F-15E should also recieve the equal counterpart, the GBU-53/B. It is a weapon system that was tested and equipped by the USAF on many different currently in service aircrafts. It fills the same role in the game as the SPICE 250 just with a different warhead, if the SPICE 250 have a place in the game, the GBU-53/B should as well.
As for the guidance of the munition, we already have AGM-179 in 2 seperate modes. The GBU-53/B could be implemented as GBU-53/B (IR) and GBU-53/B (SAL).
Currently, most nations in top tier have IR guided bombs that can be carried in large numbers, except for USA. This capability gap should be fillled.
Completely agree, I would have thought the stormbreakers would have been added around the same time as spice bombs but I guess not. And like you said with the israeli f15 getting its spice 250s, which it can carry over 20 of them, it makes sense to add this much needed munition to US CAS.
Simple enough solution there though. Either dont give the lower BR aircraft GBU-53 at all or only the SAL version. Not the first time they have done either for the sake of “balance”
Could just add laser SDB for lower BR platforms. Also saves them if they ever do add proper multi mode guidance functionality, since they don’t have to worry about giving fully capability SDB 2 to low BR
Ok, How does that impact these examples of low BR system pioneers having access to specific capabilities earlier than their contemporaries?
Realism isn’t the specific issue here (since within said bounds as layer out by Gaijin that there are at least examples that they are similar technically possible) its that they get access to certain capabilities early.
