US Captured Libyan Pantsir S1E

You could always use the technical reasoning. The Pantsir weapon systems are protected by credential user interface so they’re useless if captured.

Yeah that’s true but the difference is USA sold F-16 to many nations and they actually use it same with Leopards. China, Italy, Israeli and Belgium use those(F-16s) so i think we should not use it as argument. Captured vehicles on high tier are nonsense.

I might be wrong but systems like IRIS-T on truck would be pretty good as top tier AA and yea i know it’s not like pantsir but copy pasting it would be problematic for balance and future development of the game.

PS. Sorry for that kind of “late” but i forgot about wt forum.

I’ll take 5

There’s only one and it doesn’t function.

This one differs in appearence from the so I would say yes. +1. While I don’t play top-tier. Not my preferred BRs. I still think the appearances are cool.

Bump. Since China, France, and Japan are all getting the AH-64E. The US should get captured Pantsirs. ADATS does NOT have the range and CLAWS does not work VS DIRCM

No. You can’t get a nonfunctional pantsir system XD
This would be the equivalent of the Soviets getting the Maus with the busted main gun.

Did the Soviets ever capture a Maus? They haven’t, but the US captured 2 Pantsirs

Yes, the Soviets did capture a Maus, in fact the only surviving Maus tank is in Moscow at Kubinka tank museum.

Also no, the U.S. has one and it’s the one that was torched.

I have no problem with them adding it to the Russian tech tree then

The US have two

No, the main gun didn’t function as it was damaged while the Germans were fleeing.

They have one, if you think otherwise you’re allowed to prove your case.

“the second has its complete equipment, gear, and technology.”

The US also has a S400 system

Bad misleading headline, it only has one because that’s the only one that’s ever been verified and even if they did they wouldn’t even be able to use them because they’re credential locked.

There’s multiple websites saying that there were 2 pantsirs captured. Regardless, the US needs something that will work vs FnF helicopters. Adats does NOT have the range for it

I’m sure the U.S. has other realistic options in the works.

The addition of vehicles where a country acquired a single, or a handful of, example for trials/testing really needs to stop, it’s ridiculous. And if USA gets Pantsir, then Russia gets all the NATO stuff its “acquired” recently and given the reaction to the M1A2T the the USA SOLD to the RoC the meltdowns will be off the scale.

I see this suggestion moreso as the result of frustration about the fact the Russians had, for the longest time, the only truly effective counter against longer ranged CAS elements (now less so with the addition of the new SPAA this year), then as an honest “I really want the US to have this vehicle specifically”.

No, I don’t think this is a good machine for the US, because I don’t condone in any way the blatant C&P Gaijin seems to love nor the “they trailed it, so it’s okay” explanation for said C&P. The Oplot is only the latest in a long string of such behaviour.

That said, I do understand the frustration that led to this suggestion being made, and I do hope that the US gets something more viable for high tier then the ADATS that can be a a single vehicle, as opposed to the multi-vehicle SLAMRAAM.

ok so russia can get the bradley since they capture one and even use the side armor on a t72, or maybe a cv90 or leo2

+1 for the Pantsir itself as it’s a different variant but not for the USA as it’s not modified by the USA.

Could work as a more nimble alternative to the Kamaz, best as a folder vehicle to the Pantsir-S1 as it was modified in Russia.
