The AH-64 and A-10 may use the same calibre round (30mm) but not the same ammunition.
The Apaches M230 Chain gun uses the LW30 family of shells including the M789 HEDP which as its name implies is ‘dual purpose’ with enhanced
armour piercing. There is no pure AP round.
However the GAU-8A used in the A-10 has a much longer and heavier cartridge as it was designed specifically for armour penetration as opposed to an all purpose weapon.
I would assume the DAGRs have not been added due to their similarity to APKWS, which are already pretty useless, and DAGR would not change that, unless it has a significantly stronger warhead than the dumbfire hydras.
And 114Ls are still controversial but Gaijin has stated multiple times it is because you can’t counter them with smoke, unlike Spikes or PARs.
dagrs are not similar to the broken APKWS they have in game. DAGRS have a fire and forget mode.
yeah and you cant counter the new russian agms with smoke either, even vihkirs somehow still hit through smoke, and the newer missiles the yare going to add for R.U are just over kill.
Sartt seems to be mixing up round calibers, the M230 can fire all NATO standard 30x113mm rounds, this includes those from the likes of the DEFA series, which, happen to include AP rounds.
Now, are you getting the same MV, I would doubt it, but such rounds are still usable in the M230.
30x173mm though, nope.
I believe this conversation was held with the same result a while ago in a different thread as well.
