US ≥ 90mm reload rates between 5.3 and 8.0

Why do most of the US Heavy tanks past 6.3 (and before MBTs) have such abysmal reload rates? For example, the 90mm found in the T32 (E1), and the Super Pershing have roughly 18 seconds unaced, which is similar to the larger caliber 120mm found on the M103 and the T34, which have a similar reload time.

I know it’s for balance reasons, but why is the reload on the smaller guns longer than on the Sheridan with it’s 152mm main cannon (~15s, HEAT/HE), and the reload rates are significantly outmatched by most opponents, especially cold-war MBTs, and the large caliber HE launchers.

Not a suggestion by the way

“game balance” is the reason.

I hate that reason, I firmly think vehicles should be modelled to their maximum capability (with the weapons already in game in the case of aircraft) and balanced off of that and never held back due to a stupid game convention

Legacy reload nerf that Gaijin never really care enough about fix.

It’s one of those trade offs, instead of moving a vehicle up a BR, it gets a longer reload.

Instead of moving a vehicle down, it gets a shorter reload.

They always choose to balance in weird ways, like adding shell shatter to early APDS or making the leopard gun raise when moving over the rear of the sides of the tank.

I personally hate it, I think either we implement all things historically or just say screw it and don’t do it at all.
