US 90mm needs a buff

APCR wouldn’t be somethings i’d use as a main round. Just when i need better flat penetrations at certain moments.
Because due to no HE filter. So you are force to aim at crews , cannon breech. And sometime it would just turn them into various color (lmao). Not to mentions it sometime would not spall on light armor.
This can be really annoying to use. Espically when you use vehicles that has long reload rate (T32s with absent loader).
I can tolerate this if the vehicle itself has good reload rate. 76mm for example

Compared to what?
The M48 has a 6.7s reload. That’s the same as a Leopard 1 or AMX-30, and less than half a second slower than the Centurion Mk 3, while the T-54s have a 7.5 second reload, and of course any heavy is much slower. The only MBTs that have a significantly faster reload are the autoloaded Frenchies, which is not a surprise.
How is that bad?

It is 6.7 aced, but it is 9.75 base. Not everyone has the funds or time to grind out a crew, max the skill points for each one, and buy the aces which cost hundreds of thousands of SL. The 100mm on the T54 is the exact same speed, except for the aced reload and base by 0.25. Not to mention the 100mm is leagues ahead of the short 90mm. The AMX30 has 8.7s base, 6.7 aced. Same goes for the Leopard 1. The base reload speed is what I take issue with, alongside the fact the 90mm is just significantly worse at 7.7 on the M48, and 7.3 on the M47. The M48 and M47 both need a reload speed buff to make them better against these tanks.

Also, even the M60 is faster. It is only 0.3 higher rating.

It’s 8.7 seconds “base”. The way reload works is that the aced reload is simply the “base” reload divided by 1.3, and 8.7 divided by 1.3 is 6.7

I say “base” because the way it works in the game’s code is that the ace reload is what is written down, and simply having a bad crew increases the reload rate. So it’s kinda the other way around, with “ace” reload being the “base” reload and any other reload simply being a nerfed ace reload.

No, the M48 has an 8.7s base reload, as does the M60. And the 90mm M36/41 are some of the best guns at their BRs, with punchy HEAT-FS and good APHE.

The 90mm M36/41s you are referring to is not great. Only 185mm of penetration at 7.7 is not ideal against heavies and most mediums, HEATFS is very inconsistent and has bad post-pen damage.
And also, my mistake, it has 8.7. However, the M47 still has 9.8. And I’m quite sure the average qualification for irl M48 crews were 3 shots in 15 seconds (5s reload) and again, the shells aren’t the best. HEATFS is wacky and volumetric can absolutely shipwreck your shots. And also, the M60 should not have the same reload speed as the M48.

Alongside the fact that the M48 has basically no reverse speed compared to the M47, more weakspots, and frequent uptiers, a reload buff should be given to make it more fightable at uptiers.

I went and checked the M4/T26 believing that the reload was the same for all 90mms. This is a fault on my part. I also upgraded my crew so the reload is a lot better.

The T-25 is lackluster. needs to go back to 6.0 with it’s current gun.
