It already has 8 and they’re laser guided, unlike Spikes or other F&F missiles, you can adjust their flight path and even guide them through smoke, the missiles also have better penetration. The reason why Namer, Puma VJTF and other Spike-alike ATGM equipped IFVs need the Ammo Box is because their missiles are unreliable and they have few of them. Not saying BMP-2M is OP or anything, but unlike the Namer, it can actually protect itself with its ATGMs in close range - meanwhile the Spike? Ah yes, let me fly over that MBT.
Some IFVs also have their Spike launchers fixed at a certain angle (Vilkas and CV90 Mk.IV), meaning their minimum engagement range is basically automatically increased to past 150 - 200 meters with Spikes:
Imagine not being able to defend yourself because your ATGM can’t pull hard enough.
Yeah, 2S25M as well.
What? This thing actually has effective ways of protecting itself and attacking with things that aren’t missiles - did you forget it actually has a 125mm cannon with 3BM-60 which unironically will always be more effective than missiles are? Those AFVs at best get 30 or 35mm cannons with non-existent spall generation and poor perforation stats.
For only a small amount of time. 4 missiles, especially spikes, make that unpractical and impossible for long-term strategy.
Depends on luck honestly.
The BMP-2 has significantly higher firerate for its gun, significantly better mobility (while lighter, its UFP can actually stop shells pretty often), and the missiles can be fired on the move and aren’t reliant on luck. They are also useable at close range, unlike spikes.
The Namer can for a bit, but like I said before, you can’t do it for long. Once you run out of spikes, your autocannon can’t exactly be used for sniping. The 30mm doesn’t have the accuracy or penetration for that. All it takes is a single good player to hit your turret and your permanently a non-threat. You can’t exactly push a point without ammunition.
God, Allah, Gaijin, please store the additional 30mm ammunition for Namer in the hull. I don’t want to be left with only a 7.62 machine gun for self-Defence after being detonated by the turret ammunition (hate from RCWS-30)
*god, allah, elohim, the great snail
if gaijin isnt gonna fix the namer’s armor, AT LEAST give it another belt or an ammo box,
because you can finish your match with the name the moment you get hit most of the time
Never speak again you probably don’t have the vehicle, it’s armor is completely nonexistent, it’s a apc so it should have more missiles in the back, it’s 30mm can’t pen stuff even if it’s live depends on it. It should either get more spikes, its armor fixed or all 30mm bushmaster get a buff
Plenty of space for more spikes storage I would say.
In the case of the merkava 4, IRL it can sacrifice ammo count to carry some troops, so if the Namer sacrifices not carrying troops, then it should get more ammo count.
The fact that they categories a 60 tones vehicle as a “light tank” and say the terminator is a tank destroyer so it would get an ammo box says a lot about the people who are making decisions in the company
IFV is referred to as “Light Tank” in-game for gameplay purposes. The same occurs with SPGs being turned into “Tank Destroyers”.
The issue with the Terminator is not that it was considered a TD necessarily, as that’s what it is good at within the game. The problem is that the Begleit is the same type of vehicle, yet it is considered a light tank. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t mind this (take the M18 being a Light Tank and not a TD), as it just swaps scouting for an ammo box; however, the Namer plays similarly and struggles because it doesn’t have a way to refill itself off an objective. With the Namer’s turret being easy to penetrate, this leads to anemic performance in long-term engagements if it can’t sit near a capture point.
To be fair the Freccia is a manned turret and is easier to kill but spikes still do suck. I do think an ammo box would make it a little too trolly and that goes for any unmanned spike throwers. I think the best solution is giving the vehicles more stowed spikes since none of them are actually carrying infantry.
Edit: Totally forgot they added an unmanned Freccia now
