(UPDATED) The Namer IFV series should recieve an Ammo Box to fix its major issue and bring it in line with the Terminators

The fact that they categories a 60 tones vehicle as a “light tank” and say the terminator is a tank destroyer so it would get an ammo box says a lot about the people who are making decisions in the company

IFV is referred to as “Light Tank” in-game for gameplay purposes. The same occurs with SPGs being turned into “Tank Destroyers”.

The issue with the Terminator is not that it was considered a TD necessarily, as that’s what it is good at within the game. The problem is that the Begleit is the same type of vehicle, yet it is considered a light tank. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t mind this (take the M18 being a Light Tank and not a TD), as it just swaps scouting for an ammo box; however, the Namer plays similarly and struggles because it doesn’t have a way to refill itself off an objective. With the Namer’s turret being easy to penetrate, this leads to anemic performance in long-term engagements if it can’t sit near a capture point.

Out of 16 spikes with my AH-60 I might get 3 kills but keep crying 😭

Frecca gets 10 spikes at a lower BR but you don’t see them dominating games…

Smoke up, have some situational awareness and get better at the game 🤷‍♂️

To be fair the Freccia is a manned turret and is easier to kill but spikes still do suck. I do think an ammo box would make it a little too trolly and that goes for any unmanned spike throwers. I think the best solution is giving the vehicles more stowed spikes since none of them are actually carrying infantry.

Edit: Totally forgot they added an unmanned Freccia now

Just came to say hi from 2026. Ammunition box got added to a bmpt as an exception, because, unlike namer it cant actually carry any spare missiles in its hull. When it comes to russian vehicles, gaijin own rules of balancing dont work, as we can see. And there are multiple examples of this special treatment for russian vehicles. This is why namer needs a box.

You think labeling bmpt as light instead AT missile carrier and removing ammo box would balance it?
Giving that thing scouting ability would be broken as h****

Im not talking about balancing bmpt. Im pointing out how gaijin own rules might be easly broken once it benefits their favorite nation.

And making it “light” tank actually would benefit it more , compared to missile carrier what it is now.
So you would actually want to buff it , by making it light.

There are already alot of light tanks in ussr tt, so it wont make much of a difference, given howw nerfed active scouting is right now. But having twice less atgms definetely would.

Yeah, having most survivable light tank would not make difference…
You are bit lost, just imagine cas problem on top tier after that change…
Not to mention bonus points on scouting and getting assist on scout + kill = faster nukes what they can get now

In War Thunder Namer is classified as a light tank and BMPT is classified as a tank destroyer. Therefore BMPT gets ammunition box while Namer does not. There is no exception to the rules here. This classification is presumably die to the Namer being an IFV, while the BMPT is solely for anti-tank use. BMPT being overpowered is another issue altogether, which should be addressed separately through BR raises and model refinement.

The best option would be to remove ammunition boxes altogether for all vehicles, given that it is both highly unrealistic and unnecessary for game balance.

Fuck no I like my zachlam with ammo boxes if that happened suddenly Russian tanks would get more ammo as buffs god forbid their favorite vehicle in their favorite nation with 12.7 protection at 10.7 having low ammo
