True but I’ve mainly been in the Viggen since that’s all my friend has, and I’m trying to find ways for him to fly
Nah. Mavs are way way too slow even with supersonic launches
Hmm, yeah that’s a bit more range than bomb tossing gets you
I still think bomb tossing should be enough, though I’ll have to try it myself later
During the last run of the event I didn’t have any trouble avoiding the SAMs within bomb tossing range
During the last run the only SAM’s were at SAM sites and runways and IIRC, Osa’s were only at runways. Russian S-75 was also massively easier to deal with
Ngl, looking at the Viggens loadout, that is a terrible plane to use in NT all around
It’s too bad it doesn’t get bigger bombs, or well, literally anything useful
S-75 was a joke compared to HAWK in terms of performance, hence the buff.
Yeah
Sweden overall has practically nothing good for NT
Well, looks like the side playing against OSAs will have a bit of trouble in this run with the general shortage of H/J tracking ARMs
Russian side also not doing great either against Roland
Guess part of the experiment this time is to see how players will manage to deal with SHORAD with fewer (or no) ARMs
Frankly, 10.0-11.0 should not have platforms firing Radar SACLOS missiles since practically nothing in said bracket can actually reasonably target them outside of a practically non existent number of planes. Imo it should be the radar gun AA that have MANPADS, be so much more fair to fight
Wow they fixed an entire 10% of the problem! Now all that’s left is to:
- Give SPAAs reaction time
- Give SPAAs targeting accuracy errors
- Make SPAAs unable to target anything outside of their search radar scan zone until they are very close or radar datalink is modeled
- Fix tracer desync
- Remove the ability for the M163 and ZSU-23-4V to intercept munitions because one is unable to see them on their search radar and the other has no search radar
- Remove the extra SPAAG from the convoys (adding another one was literally doing the opposite of what players have been asking for)
- Replace the Vietnam era SPAAGs with ones that can be targeted by the ARMs of the era
- Replace the roland 1 missile with a roland 3 missile (an actual osa equivelant)
- Replace the ITO 90 with the ADATS on the top bracket
- Replace the SAMP/T with the Patriot on the top bracket to match the S300
- Rework RWRs so that you aren’t constantly getting lock/launch warnings from the second you take off
I have seen at least some variation of every single one of those points countless times from a ton of different people in the forums here, in discord servers, and other places. And that’s just with SPAAs, not any other issue brought up by other players
I think it’s fine for there to be Rolands/OSAs, but they have to be balanced properly
It’s a balancing act between having penetrating enemy territory too easy with there only being slow long range SAMs and IR SAMs and it being too hard with there being a bunch of highly effective SACLOS SAMs
Several of the points on this list dont even apply to the Vietnam era of NE test and also, once again:
Anything to say on early radar gun AA unrealistically being able to target bombs and missiles?
I really don’t understand why they think it’s a good idea to keep that feature. It’s not realistic, fun or fair.
they didn’t realise it can do it yet, give them some time
For the higher tier SPAAs it is plenty realistic. But an M163 that doesn’t even have a search radar definitely should not be able to intercept munitions
