Heli PvE is unplayable for anything without guided munitions for this very reason. You simply cannot get close enough, and need to spend a lot of time stalking AI and waiting for someone with AGMs to come along and kill them
exactly this for a while until they introduce the missile rcs/size nerf thing (because of bombs like GBU-39), now spaa on heli pve no longer able to intercept agtm’s actually
It’s a game, this is done for the sake of gameplay
If you want realism, you’re gonna lose a bunch of weapons that would be able to deal with anti air
It started as nice idea etc… if they got fixed etc.
Currently in this state, they just do “fixes” that who cares , while they don’t fix things that are discussed how many months now and they even try to make things crappier (who asked SHORADs in 10.0-11.0) …
I’m really convinced GJ can’t make a game with gameplay…and the less i see it, the less i see me playing and the less i see myself paying as well (and that’s the part you care about).
Really after 13 years , it’s boring and tiring …You just can’t create gameplay. It has to be bullcrap.
That mode was my only hope…eh, not so anymore.
This mode is a whole lot better than ARB, if you don’t want to deal with SHORAD and other anti air, play ARB
Can we do something about queue times? I’m currently waiting in queue with 2 others for 56 minutes for America 10-11
Even tho its technically possible, realistically in an actual combat scenario it would be impossible as the M163 does not have any sort of searching radar that would allow it to detect a falling bomb or an incoming missile and the tracking radar is incapable of locking them. The Shilka’s radar as well is incapable of actually detection such munitions or locking onto them. At the current moment it is impossible to deal with them unless you saturate them with small rockets however the range to do so is very dangerous if your plane does not have a rocket computer and very few planes in both brackets actually have them
I agree that this mode is better than ARB, but the last test was much better than this one. There was variety, there was a bit of lee way to try new things. Less optimal things. And this game mode literally became the only thing I played last time. It was really fun.
Now, I have to huddle on my side of the line and hope to land a sead zuni from 6k away and hope the missile that doesn’t seem to respond to chaff or flares won’t hit me when I try to turn away.
That’s fine. I don’t think anyone would have an issue only using Shrikes and Kh-28s if the AA weren’t omniscient aimbot gods.
Doesn’t the in-game M163 have rounds that self destruct at like 2k or something?
no, but the M163’s tracking radar struggles to lock anything at that range
It’s not that they would “only have Shrikes and Kh-28s”, it’s that those would likely only work against the long range radar emplacements
Kh-25MP can target I band (M163) and AGM-122 can target J band (ZSU-23).
The issue is the AI don’t use their radar, because they are omniscient aimbot gods.
How the heck are they gonna shape Korean era if the devs consider difficult to kill spaa a must?
The M163 doesn’t have a scan radar and both the ZSU and M163 would realistically just move a couple meters to avoid the AGM-122
if they somehow know that it’s coming that is
look no further, rank 2-4 ARB anti air airfields
And then you have that type of people. ARB is pretty much a deathmatch or base grinder for RP.
The SHORADs are too much in the frontline that you can’t intercept…Even blind guns kill you from 4km , M163 doesn’t even use radar to make those shots (well a bit RNG , you can pass above them and they do nothing sometimes) .
Balance wise? 10s don’t even have flares (most of them) , some 11.0s (or less than 11.0) have all aspect IRs …
I keep seeing 9.3s and 9.0s in the supposed 10.0-11.0 bracket…which i believe it’s not intentional and we already mentioned it 30000 times in the previous version of the event.
You assumed way too much. I can keep typing how many more issues , that existed and still exist in previous versions.
And even about SHORADs and SPAA … they just need to find the correct spot, that they haven’t in how many plays of the event now. In the previous time , they didn’t even bothered to make changes. And the changes we get now were not the even biggest problems.
It’s not that i don’t want the mode, it’s i’m start seeing that previous iterations were better and it doesn’t really move forward. We keep repeating more or less the same with different names from the first time the event appeared.
And seriously, i’m paying…i need to see some quality. In 13 years once. And if i wanted to play ARB, i would. I wouldn’t talk about this mode, i’d just ignore it…
But , i think for some players (like you seeing your answer) , it’s bad to want to see the game be ACTUALLY good for once and not just…“better than RB” which RB is not even a gamemode, it’s around control inputs.
Btw, ignore list. I won’t bother explain you more.
AGM-122 could still track the M163 while it’s locking something, likely even from side aspect.
But you wouldn’t even need to if they weren’t omniscient. You could just surprise attack them with rockets or retarded bombs.
frankly, no matter how you put it the M163 is horrendous to fight against because while theres a few ARM’s taht can lock it, they cant reasonably engage it because the tracking radar has such low range that by the time you can get a lock no missile will have the energy to hit and the M163 is shredding you
