It will basically turn Naval EC into a Soyuz vs. Iowa matchup.
The whole point of EC was to make use of all ship classes in different ways. With this change, using frigates to capture points will be pointless, as everyone will just bring BBs.
On top of that, capturing points will become nearly impossible.
The spawn point system was actually a good thing because it encouraged players to use different ship classes and gave them more strategic options.
Naval EC is becoming nothing more than normal battles with bots.
I think defending will be nearly impossible in some cases. → Timer to respawn the same vehicle on the same point. Well, unless you have a 10 slot lineup. Just a bit too much thats very vague i think in that update’s description. How long are the timers? Will respawn costs stay unaffected? People will lose millions of sl respawning on bad spawnpoints if so…etc etc. How are the brackets designed. How many, whats the ranges? With what amount of players will the match start? Will possibility to join ongoing matches for 30 min (or how long it was) stay unaffected?
Theres definitely the possibility here to ruin the gamemode…id introduce those changes with extreme care if i were the snail. But im not, so i guess, down in the bin it is…
Sister ships counting as separate vehicles will be a big bonus for this (like Yamato Musashi/ Italia Roma ecc…) as you get two lives of the same ship basically with different respawn timers
was that the case? iirc destroyers could endlessly respawn even if you were sitting on a cap point. But in case of many destroyers (Long lance slingers could be problematic but well) that was ok, so you had to cap with a brain and sit outside torpedo nets in your sojuz and sneakily send the floatplane to cap, have good support, or only move into the nets as soon as the resistance was broken.
But youre a lunatic to defend a port being under close range attack by any bb at or around its torp nets- range in a yamato or musashi. Your dead before you can even bring guns on target. -50000 sl for you ma frend
I would advise so for the most important modules. As soon as you have them (some mobility and important shell types) and can somewhat get something done nothing speaks against spading the rest in ec. Not sure which method would be quicker, but id prefer spading while having fun to spading while feeling like a zombie. But, ofc, to each their own.
Yeah, still a shame.
Naval EC was free of gaijin bots. Now, matchs are full of them. How fun it is !
I’d rather gaijin rework their matchmaking to balance than doing this s…
