Update 2.55.1.36

Nuclear Thunder

  • SPAAs now have limited ammo and do rearm.
  • A bug that made it impossible for ground units to capture enemy depots has been fixed. The capturing of enemy’s strongpoints and depots reduces the number of points the enemy team has.
  • A bug that sometimes caused the cannon artillery convoys to try to shoot enemies through the allied depots has been fixed.
  • Ground vehicles can now repair and extinguish fires.
  • The firing range of cannon artillery has been reduced.
  • A bug that caused tank convoys to spawn very rarely has been fixed.
  • The size of all convoys has been reduced to 5 vehicles.
  • The speed of vehicle convoys has been increased from 60 km/h to 75 km/h.
  • A bug that caused some parts of the airfields to be destroyed before the destruction of the airfield has been fixed.
  • To improve readability, damage dealt to bases that amounts to less than 1 kiloton will now be shown as "0" in the battle statistics, preventing confusing exponential notation.
  • B-52H, Tu-95M — the ECM jammers have been made more effective.
  • AGM-88A — the explosive type has been corrected.
  • AGM-88A, Kh-58U — the engine and autopilot parameters have been adjusted. The missile is now more stable when launched at long ranges, previously they could have started oscillating on their trajectory.
  • A bug that caused the edges of the nuclear bomb impact marks on the ground to end abruptly has been fixed.
  • A bug that caused the shock wave effect from the nuclear explosion to display against the clouds in the sky has been fixed.
  • A bug that caused part of the screen to become black when SSAA was enabled has been fixed. (Report).

Aircraft

  • A bug that made it possible to select an air-to-ground missile with the manual guidance on the tactical map and follow it with a weapon tracking camera has been fixed. (Report).
  • A bug that stopped gunners from shooting enemies autonomously has been fixed (Report, Report).
  • A bug that caused the airfield anti-aircraft to run out of missiles has been fixed.
  • Blenheim Mk.IV — a bug that caused the fuel tanks in the wings to be loaded with fuel asymmetrically when the plane had a partial fuel load has been fixed.

Locations and Missions

  • Ardennes — a bug that caused a hit notification to occur when hitting the bulldozers has been fixed.
  • American Desert — an unintended position on the rocks in grid squares E1-F2 has been blocked.

Interface

  • Munitions are no longer displayed on the map in Ground Battles.
  • In missions with respawns for Silver Lions, the current balance with the totals for earnings and spendings in the mission is now displayed not only in the respawn window, but in the tactical map window after the spawn as well.
  • A hint about the enabled automatic bomb release in CCRP mode has been added. It disappears after being shown a few times.
  • When the automatic bomb release in CCRP mode is enabled, the keybind to drop bombs is now displayed in the aircraft interface.
  • A bug that sometimes caused the game to crash when changing the initial radar settings in the Test Flight window after switching between the aircraft with the window opened has been fixed. (Report).

Graphics

  • A bug that sometimes caused colorful artifacts to appear on the screen after switching between different anti-aliasing methods when in battle has been fixed.

Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service, forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.

So can the russian AAAs in the nuclear thunder event still lock on and fire at you from behind hills or not?

hopefully that reduces the count of Osas and Rolands

Main issue with them isn’t the missile or system themselves; it’s:

  1. The number of them everywhere

  2. the E/O targeting when the radars are off leading to 0 Warning outside of the Mk.1 Eyeball

If you’re aware they’ve launched you can dodge them fairly fine, but you just get saturated with everything

My RWR lighting up like a Christmas tree anytime I’m remotely near anything is one of the reasons of all time.

They could at least make it so that perhaps not every single armored column has an AA unit, or that more of them are not surface to air missiles. Will have to see how these changes pan out, but I really feel like even with re-arming it’s still not nearly enough to counteract the ridiculous AI. I get that the AI and server load is complex as bvvd mentioned, but if they can’t include the full complexity of the AA AI right now, and don’t have time to fix it properly, then they shouldn’t have artificially buffed them to make up for it in a temporary event in the first place.

Just replace OSA’s with Strelas.

Awesome, would love for these SPAAs to not always intercept every single missile or bomb you launch at them, it is okay if they do intercept them but not always, kind of like 50% of intercepting the very first ammunition like an Anti Radiation Missile or AGM on their way and then start decreasing the accuracy of the interception for further ammunitions if the SPAA is still alive, that way playing strike aircraft doesn’t feel so frustrating and since there’s always a Roland or Osa spawning within those convoys there’s still plenty of targets moving around so it’s not like a single player would be able to destroy them all by himself.
