Update 2.55.0.9

  • Su-30SM, Su-30SM2 — a bug where one of the R-77-1 missiles, available without researching any modifications, was located under the air intake has been fixed. Now both missiles are located at the inner-most wing hardpoint. (Report).

  • M1296 — the Scout UAV modification has been moved from tier III to tier IV in the modification research window.
  • Ariete (all variants) — armor parameters have been updated after the correction of armor geometry which occurred with the release of the Ninth Wave major update.
  • sWaTrgInf — a bug where the commander’s sight was blocked has been fixed. (Report).

  • Golden Quarry (all missions), Red Desert (all missions) — missions in these locations have been temporarily removed from rotation until bugs are fixed.

Graphics

  • A bug that caused the inability to choose DirectX 11 as a graphics API in the launcher has been fixed.

Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service, forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.

It is great to see the Arietes are finally being addressed. However, the elephant in the room remains; the WAR kit KE effectiveness!

I wish the WAR kit’s KE effectiveness were finally addressed as well.

Ariete’s armor appears to be relatively sensible now, after this update; if WAR would provide its estimated 150-ish mm KE, then its cheeks would actually become somewhat useful.

Sadly, so far, those 6 extra tons of armor still provide barely 20mm KE, as far as I know.

EDIT:

It appears WAR is being updated too!

The WAR changes are a bit underwhelming so far, but it’s good to see they are at least finally addressing them!

WOW but we still miss a ton of armor inside of the turret we have 330 of air in modern MBT (and the kit war Still have the wrong value VS the KE ammunition)
The centaur 2 is missing 4/4 of its functions, I would at least like to know in the near future if they will be added or not

Ah yes, artillery modification.

The most pressing issue with current BMPT implementation.

The reshuffling of the F-16C modifications broke the research.

I’m wondering the same @Stona_WT, always happy to see Ariete improvements, but I’d like to know what the plan is regarding Centauro II as it seems it was shipped in WIP state. In particular I’d like to know whether the incomplete spall liner and the removal of the HE-TF shell was intended or if it’s still being worked on. Cheers!

Finally,it was the only Tank Destroyer in the game with artillery, outside rocket tanks like the BM-8-24 and others. Now when will you start reworking its ERA and the fact destroying its missiles will not kill it?

I believe the most pressing issue is the inability of the loader to reload manually after depleting the first 6 rounds, like he’s there for no reason at all.

I’ve also read that the autoloader should be faster than 5 seconds.

The fact that the missiles protect it from KH38 is so funny

Why, since this update, can we no longer see the number of points remaining for a crew to become an ace on a vehicle ?

Not sure if it was hotfix, or in actual patch, but the Ace Training bar IS showing now.

Still cannot see the other vehicles of the same type that are trained on that slot. And still cannot change between Land/Sea/Air while looking at the crew training.

EDIT #1:
OH another patch is installing for me on reload, will update if anything changes with the crew training window.

EDIT #2:
Yeah, still cannot see the other vehicles trained, or change between Land/Sea/Air.

Please add these functions into the new crew training window please Devs! The new crew training window does look good, and I like the graphical display of the vehicle showing how each skill affects everything, but these functions are very useful, especially for countries where we have a lot of vehicles and/or lots of crew slots.

I plan on getting the 11th crew slot on probably 4 countries 😄 It is going to be very difficult to figure out where I want to place vehicles without those two functions in the crew training window.

Thank you!

it’s saddening the spall-liner was left unfixed since the dev server…

Absolutepy just a damage control attempt to point at and say “See, we’re nerfing it! Please stop being mad, we’re nerfing it!” While doing literally nothing.

Noone is buying it Gaijin.

Funny how AMD is releasing FSR 4.1 and more right alongside the ‘Ninth Wave’ update. The PS5 Pro supports PSSR 2, yet War Thunder doesn’t support any of it so far—bravo.

But hey, at least I can cap my FPS… wtf. I’d actually like to have enough FPS first before needing to rein them in. So pointless—it’s not like everyone is running around with an Nvidia 5090."
