I understand that players can choose their unique profile picture. This is a typical form of self-expression. However, I would also like the “freedom” and “liberty” to be able to turn off display of profile picture in battle. This is not “controlling what others like”, to the contrary, YOU are the one trying to control what others see and like.
I have played WT for a few years, and during the majority of this time, profile pictures were not forced upon players. Do you remember when death message contained useful or interesting information? The opposing player’s username, the cause of death, enemy’s vehicle, and the specific round or munitions which you were destroyed by? Or the detailed player profile showing colorful medals, number of vehicles unlocked across each nation, and to the right, player statistics?
It wasn’t much longer than a year ago, when the souless UI replacements were made. There was significant backlash at the time, with community opinion being strongly against them. Now, most of the player profile page is dead space, players can only choose one type of stat to show at a time, etc, etc. I could write a dozen-page essay about this and related topics. But community sentiment has been completely ignored by Gaijin, and after all, these are merely cosmetic issues, less important than balancing, bug reports, and other mechanic changes. In fact, many players have become desensitized to ignorance of their opinion, which is the primary reason this topic is rarely discussed now.

No, no, you stated that a dead guy’s profile picture and the Senrai Maiden ones were “disgusting”. You are the one who’s controlling here. If it were simply an on/off switch for playercards upon destruction, that would be one thing, but you made it VERY clear you find those two specifically “disgusting”.
And on the contrary. I see Furry profiles all the time, and despite disliking them, I don’t care to comment about it. What someone has as their own profile picture is their business, not mine.
Don’t try to lump yourself in with people who disliked a needless change. You weren’t complaining about the new design of profiles, you were calling a dead dude’s face disgusting.

And all he and many of us want is to control our own experience. We dont want immersion ruining dumb fireworks going off in battle, and we also dont want to be visually violated by low-quality AI-generated profile pictures that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the game. The same goes for pillows and furry pfp’s.
You are free to put whatever u want on your tank and UI, but you are not the only one whose freedom should be respected.

I’m not sure how to fix it permanently if it keeps happening, but you can just toggle low flight leveling or whatever it’s called off.
That is an extreme accusation; you’d better take up with Gaijin and their artists. Have fun.
You can side with calling a dead man disgusting, though. That’s your freedom of speech, I guess.
And for all the people who can’t seem to get it through their skulls, Anime is very popular amongst soldiers. Pinups were what were used in WW2, and that has continued in the form of Anime now. Cry about it, but it’s historically accurate.

I would like to second or even third the implementation of a comestic diasble toggle. If bushes or camo nets were an additional module you could unlock for your tank or any tank, that would be more acceptable. For them to be cosmetics much like the various props or items, players should have a means to disable them in their perspective.

i remember when events used to contain a special camo for the vehicle, and not this heap of AI slop, which has nothing to do with the vehicle and with the “highly realistic, combat simulator”.
Pure laziness and ultimately, disrespecting the consumer.
history. Great, then how about actual historical accuracy? Lock it to the specific nation/ tanks/ aircraft it was present on. Because this slop has gone way beyond whats historical.

Do you realise, things like these are RARE, and in game we have half the vehicles in random degeneracy?

Nope. Just like we don’t need other realistic features like pilots reacting properly to being covered with burning fuel or just getting hit in the legs with 30mm incendiary.

Let’s delete all decals and decorations then since each vehicle has them unique IRL.
These decals fit the general art style of the era, and are perfectly in place.
Unlike body pillows and “metal santa” AI slop.

Wowww game completely changed game’s name should be changed to War Thunder 2 because fixing a radar completely transformed game
