But it was added as an 8.3 and had more than enough armor at the time thanks to how it was added

Additionally, when it was added, blowing up its ammo didn’t actually do anything, it could keep shooting, and it was like that for a month, and then it went to 9.0 and slowly rose over time

Why are BMPT and BMPT 72 so good?
Hello, I am HK and these are some of the facts, I believe, that made bmpt and the bmpt 72 to be very effective at 10.3. the reason why I choose 10.3 because I grinded the bmpt at 10.3. I played 22 games with 77% win rate and 3.3 k/d. these vehicles are so effective because of these factors.

  1. Good targeting speed ( it’s the same vertical targeting as Japanese type 90 and type 10 tanks)

  2. Top tier armor (they have better armor than the T80UD, at the same br, 800-750 vs 650 - 493 on the upper hull)

  3. Unman turret

  4. Auto cannon spam (you can not see anything when they are firing at you)

  5. Continuous fire (they can which between 2 belts to fire non-stop)

  6. 4 rapid fire atgms (they can kill you rapidly)

  7. 5 Crews for tech tree BMPT (I survived AGM 65 from an A10, with 2 death crews, in the bmpt)

  8. Effective side ERA (they can block shots from the side if angled)

  9. some better side quality factors for the br, like laser warning, gen 2 thermal.

  10. broken implementation of the ammo rack for the auto cannon in the turret (I tested the bmpt with the help of a random training room goer)
    the auto cannon, while ammo racked, can still fire with no ammo in the turret, and after the 2 belt is destroyed, you can’t be ammo racked anymore. the belt is empty in the turret while the gun can still fire. side note, something else i found is that if both belt is destroyed at the same time, the tank might die, so it rng.

in conclusion, I believe these are the important factors that made the bmpt specifically and both bmpt and bmpt 72 to be very effective at 10.3.

11. grenade launcher can destroy a lot of map object very effectively (tree, walls, attachments, your mother in bed)

Maybe they are planning future decompression on Ground pushing it to 13.0 or 13.3? And with that it being moved to 10.0 would mean it doesn’t see much of the current 11.0?

Just my guess. 8.7 shouldn’t be seeing it though, which ia a bigger problem for people at that BR than for those playing it at 10.0. Itll still slap in a downtier, it’ll do okay at its new BR - and itll suck, like everything else, in an uptier.

I didnt touch on match making, line ups and the new br of 10.7 for the bmpt and bmpt 72

Thats not the issue. The issue is with top tier russian armor packages it is very difficult to contend with when you have crappy apfsds from the 9.3-10.3 range. Also the ammo doesnt detonate like it should
