Why are BMPT and BMPT 72 so good?
Hello, I am HK and these are some of the facts, I believe, that made bmpt and the bmpt 72 to be very effective at 10.3. the reason why I choose 10.3 because I grinded the bmpt at 10.3. I played 22 games with 77% win rate and 3.3 k/d. these vehicles are so effective because of these factors.

  1. Good targeting speed ( it’s the same vertical targeting as Japanese type 90 and type 10 tanks)

  2. Top tier armor (they have better armor than the T80UD, at the same br, 800-750 vs 650 - 493 on the upper hull)

  3. Unman turret

  4. Auto cannon spam (you can not see anything when they are firing at you)

  5. Continuous fire (they can which between 2 belts to fire non-stop)

  6. 4 rapid fire atgms (they can kill you rapidly)

  7. 5 Crews for tech tree BMPT (I survived AGM 65 from an A10, with 2 death crews, in the bmpt)

  8. Effective side ERA (they can block shots from the side if angled)

  9. some better side quality factors for the br, like laser warning, gen 2 thermal.

  10. broken implementation of the ammo rack for the auto cannon in the turret (I tested the bmpt with the help of a random training room goer)
    the auto cannon, while ammo racked, can still fire with no ammo in the turret, and after the 2 belt is destroyed, you can’t be ammo racked anymore. the belt is empty in the turret while the gun can still fire. side note, something else i found is that if both belt is destroyed at the same time, the tank might die, so it rng.

in conclusion, I believe these are the important factors that made the bmpt specifically and both bmpt and bmpt 72 to be very effective at 10.3.

one more thing to add
11. grenade launcher can destroy a lot of map object very effectively (tree, walls, attachments, your mother in bed)

Maybe they are planning future decompression on Ground pushing it to 13.0 or 13.3? And with that it being moved to 10.0 would mean it doesn’t see much of the current 11.0?

Just my guess. 8.7 shouldn’t be seeing it though, which ia a bigger problem for people at that BR than for those playing it at 10.0. Itll still slap in a downtier, it’ll do okay at its new BR - and itll suck, like everything else, in an uptier.

I didnt touch on match making, line ups and the new br of 10.7 for the bmpt and bmpt 72

Thats not the issue. The issue is with top tier russian armor packages it is very difficult to contend with when you have crappy apfsds from the 9.3-10.3 range. Also the ammo doesnt detonate like it should

Waiting for the BMPT to go to 11.7 before I touch anywhere near that BR… Gonna let the noobs suffer against it, BR raises to 11.0, rinse repeat, by the time it’s BR is 11.7, it will be on sale and better than tech tree version LoL

“might not be enough for them to become balanced” lmao gotta love this damage control nonsense, like the devs don’t even know what appropriate br is for a vehicle they made, they just have a vague idea and then throw the vehicle out and see if it causes backlash…

If they had even a basic understanding of the game they would have never added these things at such a low br to begin with, its like the devs are in some sort of Chinese room and have no idea what game they are developing and only have access to ambiguous stats and cant you know, just boot the damn game and have some test sessions to see how vehicles perform. Its baffling how incompetent they are in understanding their own game…

With relikt and spall liners it makes it t90m level of protection, t90a is much more easily defeated

understatement of the year. One barrel or breech to shoot out or a driver viewport that isnt a pixel gap makes it a free kill in comparison

Really ? Enough armor for what ?
It was best armored IFV but that is it. It is “lightly” armed a lot of features is still not working, dozens of bug reports are still open…

Tanks like T-44-100 or T-54 and further have no issue to penetrate PUMA frontally…

Am I the only one, who sees the discrepancy here ?
Meanwhile PUMA would struggle frontally against fairly old MBTs:

Again WHEN IT CAME OUT, for over a year, its armor was equivalent to something crazy like 600-800 mm RHA

Are you sure you are not imagining things ?

Anyhow what is your point ? If you try to demonstrate that Gaijin was wrong with PUMA BR (Modern design IMO should not under any circumstances fight post war early cold war designs) like now is with the BMPT BR, nobody disputes that.

Since you are apparently incapable or lazy to use Protection Analysis tool I have added BMPT-72 vs DM53 to previous post.

My point:
The puma was practically un-killable at 8.3 and slowly rose over the next month.

The BMPT is strong, but in fire power, it is easily killable, and if you can’t aim, that’s on you.
At least at the BMPTs initial br it can be easily killed by what it sees.

Yall need to stop being so biased.

It’s easily the hardest to kill tank at 9.7 and it’s not even close. combine that with an autoloader, great pen, and decent mobility and it should be self-explanatory. I will miss having it at 9.7 but it is justified imo.

Uh, I am a pretty good player and the BMPT ate 5 rounds of m829a1 at close range. I killed its ring on my first shot which should have been an outright kill, machine gunned its track and put 4 more rounds into the side where is should have also died.

This thing is way busted in terms of survivability. You’d know this if you actually played AGAINST it instead of having it on your team. I am not saying that bad players dont die in it, they just die slightly slower than most other MBTs. However, its armor is waaaaay more prone to making rounds vanish than other T series, I know my weak points.

Is there an ETA on a fix for the horrific stuttering a section of the community has been facing since what I see is from the update in November I believe? (I don’t play enough to know when it started, just that I’m effected by it too)
I’d really like to actually get back in the game, but this stuttering makes it unplayable after a match or two.
