?? I know BR changes are based on vehicle performance + userbase performance in that vehicle.
You were the one who was acting like it’s absolutely certain that Puma’s BR will change just from the buff alone like you have clairvoyance.
You do realize that Germany is severely lacking in the light tank department from 3.7 [Puma] until the Walker Bulldog is added at 6.7. So of course they are using Puma in higher BRs. It’s because they have no other choice.
I did point out Puma’s superior reverse speed in my reply.
Doesn’t change that much in that specific 0.3 range. But increases the chances of facing heavier and heavier armor due to uptiers.[KV-1 (zis-5), KV-1E, KV-7, SU-152, ISU-152, Churchill VII/Crocodile, T14…etc]. The 50mm cannon struggles constantly and non pen’s heavy armor unless you get a complete side-on angle on these tanks.
I generally agree but the bug is not related to aphe, the bug we have currently ingame makes it possible to kill any tank with any time delayed fuse grenade, HE with delay included.
Soooo ehm… with this current state of game and coelian really should not be 7.0…
I mean… russia have even more pen on their 6.3… so ehm… whats the point again coelian going up zo 7.0? Just because the game is hardcore bugget atm?
That makes no sense because you don’t have to play a light tank, if it wasn’t effective in some way.
People take the BT-5 at higher BRs, not because they don’t have alternatives but because it’s fast and cheap to spawn, just rushing a cap.
But the Puma is still effective at higher BRs as a light tank.
The US 75mm isn’t all that much better at close range but Puma is able to reliably shoot them from the side.
It’s also effective in killing lighter targets by being more mobile than them.
I literally defended the EBR 1951s 5.3 BR with it having an excellent combination of mobility, gun traverse speed and killing power is 75mm APHE.
While a lot of people argued that it isn’t better than the Puma, despite the Puma being very susceptible to .50cal or 20mm rounds, having a weaker gun and much worse turret traverse.
Now one of the issues isn’t much of a problem anymore and increases reaction time is going to make the Puma more effective.
What’s wrong with it if you don’t mind me asking? That’s the radar unit used by the CLAWS/NASAMS system right?
Of course you don’t have to play a light tank if you don’t want to, it’s your choice after all. But sometimes it is a necessity when you have to cap rush or decap when your tickets are bleeding at a rapid pace. Like you said why people use the BT-5. During these situations, you need a fast mover. Germany has none other than the Puma until 6.7. My point about “having no choice but to play the Puma” came from that line of logic.
Deliberately moving a tank up and up in BR until it’s cannon becomes laughably ineffective to everything other than light armor means you are basically forcibly stripping the tank of it’s advantages until it becomes almost obsolete and only useful for a certain niche. Why would you even want that?
I fundamentally disagree with your line of thinking about the EBR 1951. EBR suffers from what I’ve mentioned above. Since Gaijin balances based on how the effectively a player base uses the tank, all it takes is a bunch of try hards to elevate a tank into a BR that it doesn’t deserve. Now an average player has to suffer unless they have the map knowledge, vehicle weakspot knowledge and game sense to make the vehicle work. It is simply unfair both to the vehicle and the average player. The Concept 3 is a far better light tank than the EBR and that sits at 4.7. The 77mm cannon is vastly superior and more consistent than EBR’s 75mm.
At a lower BR, EBR could have been versatile and more balanced where it’s cannon could work if you could aim well and it could flank as well. This way people can still take it to a higher BR taking advantage of it’s mobility if they choose to do so or play it at the BR where it is “balanced” according to my line of thinking. Like you said, “you don’t have to play a light tank, if it wasn’t effective in some way”. But that doesn’t mean you have to strip the tank of it’s versatility until it becomes effective in only one thing.
After this much back and forth, I don’t know if we are getting anywhere. But I’ll summarize my thought process as concisely as possible.
It’s better to have a vehicle lower in BR where it isn’t doodoo and if players want to uptier it, they have the option to do so.
I hope you understand what I’m getting at and why I’m against the Puma being moved up in BR based on the turret traverse buff alone. I don’t want it to creep towards becoming another EBR.
Yes
Its rotating too slow (16 rpm while it should have 30), missing 35km range, and missing TWS ESA
