Update 2.41.0.41

please stop complaining about the J-7D. im 5 matches in and the matchmaker now is even worse than before. im fighting Mig-23MLs all the time

welcome to 10.7. think about aircraft that dont even have an RWR (Jaguar E, J35XS)

That doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be at 10.7. 11.0 is fine for a plane that is better than the Mig-21MF/SMT.

Thats a problem with compression. The J7-D should never be facing MiG23BNs, Hawker Hunter, or the T2! To say its equal to the MF and SMT is just wrong.

We clearly need some more decompression here. But well

There appears to be 2 bugs now.

  • Randomly some assets (foliage, puddles) start flickering in and out of existence. Usually happens after conclusion of a battle.
  • After certain amount of battles, the framerate halves when in a tank. In plane full FPS, when in tank exactly half. I have 144FPS in plane and 72FPS in tank. This might be two things.
    – 1 – Vsync issues
    – 2 – Memory leak

Restart solves both problems temporarily for a few battles.

Oh and also probably not a bug, but someone messed up with setting a decimal point on LOD distance. They are too short on all maps. LOD distance is something like 200 meters. Strangely only in 3rd person view. When I look via binos or a scope, the LOD distance is several kilometers (how it should be).

Please look into it guys, I don´t have the time nor the will to make bugreports as I have no idea what causes the first 2 issues as it happens randomly. And also all my bugreports are always either ignored or closed, so ain´t gonna bother at all.

After restarting several times it seems that the vsync issue has been resolved. What does remain are the fps drops. I’m playing and instead of going to the usual 165 it goes down to 110, 140 etc. which makes the game sometimes go with small pauses.
Hopefully gaijin will solve the stability problems, apart from optimizing certain maps that make the fps drop.

Space launching PL-5Bs is long dead. It died in March of 2023 with the induced drag nerf to missiles. As well as contrails addition later on.

J-7D is comparable to MiG-21SMT, or a bit better. J-7D has a bit worse flight performance, and gets good rear-aspect missiles while SMT gets OK all-aspect missiles. PL-5Bs do not have such a far range anymore, and they have worse pull in practice compared to R-60Ms.

To put it simply, you are being too dramatic about this change. J-7D didn’t belong at same BR as J-7E, lowering is reasonable.

The J7-D wasnt at the same BR as the J7E, it was at 11.0 and the E is at 11.3. Plus the D still gets the PL7s which are alot better than the R60s.

And decent all aspaect missles on the SMT/MF? You mean the R3-R? Its an entry level SARH missle, its very situational only. The SMT and MF have bothing to compare to the PL5B, just R60s that chase flares and R3s that lose lock at the slightest turn or flare/chaff.

Not really.
Drag nerf was big oof for “short range” missiles such as Magic 1, R-60s but, space launching with AIM-9D/Gs, R-13M1, PL-5B, etc still works.

Also, contrails doesn’t render if you fly below 5600m, which is enough altitude for launching against player who is hugging on the deck.

You can pulls harder instead also, performance is still better than MiG-21MF at all.

R-3R ain’t that good since it is very early SARH missiles.
It is quite OK because it dooesn’t give RWR LAUNCH warning but, it is still super easy to dodge even if you don’t have chaffs.

J-7E is 11.3BR now.
Since J-7D is basically J-7E with MiG-21MF/SMT performance, 10.7BR J-7D is too much.
