The overall sound volume has been reduced in accordance with technical requirements of digital distribution services. Please note that it is the general volume levels that were reduced, while the volumes of separate game soundscape elements relative to each other have remained the same.
Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service, forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.
I read these patchnotes thinking it would be a minor change, but imagine my displeasure when I load up the game and the difference is about a full order of magnitude. I turned my game volume up from 75 to 100 and it’s still much quieter than it was yesterday. War Thunder is now the quietest program on my machine and I have to boost its volume specifically in Windows, please drop whatever digital distribution service required you to lower the game volume.
It’s a lot worse if you use headset, the engine noise is now extremely quiet, all the sounds in third person view is way too quiet, but the main cannon sound is louder in first person, so if you turn the volume up then you get ear damage when firing your main cannon in first person view/gunner sight.
I think I understand the what, but not the why. Can you elaborate on why this was done, as I don’t understand what “in accordance with technical requirements of digital distribution services” means.
