Update 2.33.0.132

potential KS / no death count despite being sawed in half,…
no reward (apart hit or critical hit) for the hunter
survivability of the Kamov was made to save crew, not to go in a fight with half the size

i understand the Kamov have good survivability thanks to that, but they’re already good helos (apart maybe the Ka-29), and would definetly be able to turn 180° and kill you with VIHKR’s or Igla’s without any trouble about that.

so–> the hunter become the hunted, and will not be rewarded for his action.

while IRL → those Kamov pilots would definetly go back to base/land before getting shot at once again.

the problem would be stats of those Kamov,… but maybe we can set Ka-52/50 to 12.7 already, thanks to features nobody else have.

Taking off the ka 50’s tail doesnt auto-eject the pilot so the change in kill feed doesnt affect anything.

Considering it is still functioning, yeah. Should I start getting credit for a kill whenever my round pens a tank?

They just changed the kill reward mechanic so that any damage that doesnt result in complete destruction(vehicle explodes) or auto-reject will not be a kill.

In war thunder, pilots don’t need to follow operating procedures. This should be pretty obvious. You’re talking non sense. This post probably has the most ridiculous replies i have seen in WT forum.

Just because something affects the stability and performance of vehicle doesn’t mean it should be count as a killl. Its either a hit or a critical hit.

There is functionning and “war ready”,… thats 2 different things.

Yet War thunder allows so much simplicity of control that what i’ve just described will happen.

And a tank that just took a 75mm round to the engine isnt war ready either. Nor one that took a round to the breach. Yet that isnt a kill.

If you want gaijin to change kill credit to “vehicle is no longer war ready” than you can argue that. However, the current system they want is a kill credit for “vehicle can no longer function in game”

You’re comparing to type of Mechanics for 2 different type of vehicule.

If you wanna do that → go for Aircrafts vs Helos
Bringing tank mechanics is unconsiderate, as you can’t basically call Mechanics to fix aircraft while it’s in the air.

And, utlimately YES: WWII tank crews were to Abandon Vehicule if the Tank was pierced from side to side → let’s add that since it will be immersive.

The Kamov ability was to make that pilots are alive in the end.

Even more → Kamov-50/52 should see the rotors wings to explode, then the pilot should be ejected.
This could have been forced onto those 2 helos that are still best ones in game.

However :

Is far different than this :

So,… what we’re looking at here is far more different.
Because :
1- in game there is no control surfaces left → means that only rotor can provide for speed and Stability.
→ flight performances should be reduced by 80% for hoizontal abilities, or the Aircraft will be unstable and crash

2- in game aircrafts that are badly damaged are considered killed when in most case can still fly out for a while to reach a base → most of the time there is timer of 15seconds before an automatic Ejection.
→ similar problem, then should be somewhat allowed for everyone,…

And my question about reward for Hunting player/repair cost of Kamov → both are then severly limited by that.

What i want to add now is that every sawed tail is guaranteed reward IF the helicopter is considered killed afterward, as the guy that have done the job is the one who permitted such kill to ever happen.

They were intended to limp back to base without a tail, not fly competently while fighting.

The videos usually passed around to “prove” this point also only show at most a fourth of the tail gone, while in war thunder it can fly mostly fine with the entire back half missing… That’s not just empty weight back there, y’know…

Has anyone considered weight and balance of the Ka-xx helis after losing the tail? There’s no way it should be able to fly like nothing happened and keep getting kills. Those helis have always been way overpowered and under ranked. Why do they keep their OP while American vehicles stay nerfed say like, the Abrams that still has a lower reload speed than it should? BaLaNcInG the game by picking and choosing what should be rather than what really is has made the game silly.

By the way, I also agree that, in their current state in the game (of essentially needing to be killed twice before effectively be put out of action), these helicopters should simply get a massive BR increase (at least 0.7 if not 1.0), so that they are on par with the rest of the vehicles. While it would still be completely unrealistic and ignoring the laws of physics, at least it would be somewhat fair. Right now (with or without the change in notification) these helicopters are absolutely dominating in ways which are ridiculous for game balance (or whatever is left of it in this game).

Can you send a primary/secondary source

Have you learned physics in secondary school? Most notably the part called (depending on language) “dynamics” or “physical mechanics”… That’s all the sources you need.

You’re gonna have to give a primary or secondary source to say that the kamovs can’t fly without a tail other than to just say “physics”, atleast if you want to make change instead of just complain

I never said that they can’t fly (I even specifically admitted they can). I said that they can’t go around killing tanks and capturing multiple objectives as they are currently able to in game.

Sources?

I play this game (a lot) and I’ve seen it happen in game. Several times. I’m sure there are replays and videos around of players doing exactly that.

I meant a source that proves incapability of ka-50/etc to not take part in combat without a tail.

The obvious fact that when your centre of gravity is displaced 2 meters to the front, you can’t really gain altitude while manoeuvring to take off or clear a hill? The fact that all actual combat videos of Kamov helicopters missing a tail we have show them limping back to their lines in a straight line with dangerous listing. Anyway, proving a negative is impossible. We would need, to say it’s possible, a video or official test showing a Kamov performing a combat mission without a tail. Regardless, that’s not what I’m arguing. YOU are arguing they can. I’m just arguing that if they can in game (unlike ALL other helicopters), they should be at a much higher BR because it’s a clear and massive game advantage.

I don’t see any sources. You talked about being educated and you cited laws of physics so please conduct the required math to confirm that the ka-50 can’t fly without it’s tail in a way that would let it engage targets. Math is either correct or incorrect, after they have confirmed it they have to consider it.

OK, I understand you don’t want your pet magical helicopter go higher in BR. But I’m not discussing with people in obvious bad faith.

I don’t have a ka-50. You told me that you are educated and cited laws of physics, therefore you have conducted the required math to realize the ka-50’s inability to perform in said way. If i ask you for the math that you have done and you just say that ka-50 is my pet magical helicopter, i don’t think you have done any math to conclude that the ka-50 ingame is flying against laws of physics.

As i’m not talking in bad faith like you, i can prove the fact that i don’t have a ka-50.
