Display of vehicles at a distance

Targeting pods and optics for high-ranked aircraft help to see ground targets and give the ability to launch at ranges that are comparable to the engagement ranges of SAMs. However, due to a bug in applying angular target sizes to the detection range through targeting optics, these ranges were noticeably smaller than they should have been for small targets. For example, for smaller vehicles such as the Swedish Lvrbv 701, the maximum range at which it could be detected in the targeting pod was about 8 km. After fixing this bug, its detection range will be over 20 km instead, and for larger targets even more.

  • A bug with the incorrect display of vehicles at long ranges when using targeting optics for aircraft has been fixed.
  • A bug where looking through targeting optics, such as target designation pods, enemy markers could be detected at distances exceeding the enemy marker detection capabilities and crew skills has been fixed.

Other aircraft fixes

  • A bug where the Prandtl-Glauert effect was not visible to other players has been fixed.
  • F-16C, Barak II — incorrect heading display on the HUD compass in the cockpit has been fixed.

Ground Vehicles

  • KPz-70, MBT-70 — a bug that caused the autocannon’s aim to raise in a specific area of fire has been fixed. (Report 1) (Report 2)
  • A bug during air events in Ground Arcade battles that caused the outlines of allied vehicles to be visible to players who were in an aircraft has been fixed.

Naval Vessels

  • A bug that caused sea mines to sink when coming into contact with allies has been fixed.

Other fixes

  • A bug that could cause repaired vehicles to remain crew locked has been fixed.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

can you guys fix the bug where helicopter camera movement transfers over when you die and respawn as a tank?

Did this fix the issues of the targeting pods not moving smoothly on the horizontal axis in VR when in high zoom? It’s been reported multiple times for about two years and it makes high zoom pod unusable unless your target it exactly head on.

1 minute mark and forward on the video shows multiple examples of this bug.

I’ve been waiting so long for the 20mm to get fixed, I’ve died to that bug (and 10.0+ matchmaker) way too many times.

It’s been there for so long I started to doubt anything would happen a good while ago.

I can rest in peace now.

Lvrbv 701 looking up at aircraft with a targeting pod… Lmafo ok bro good luck with that. It’s detection range could be 4km… It wouldn’t help it… Especially after the AA missile changes. Might as well be armed with a slingshot.

Basically I see zero effect, targeting pods either way are vs Pantsir/VT-1 slingers with good radar so they see you before you can launch missile/get close to bomb.

With the last sound update aircraft air silent until about 1km so either way your f******d lol

So you buffed CAS? CAS really needed a buff…

The LITENING II pod on the F-16C is still bugged as only GEN 1 thermals instead of the GEN 2 it should be.

CAS is shit nowadays, you cant do nothing if there is AAs spawned. considering you need ~875 SP to hop in a plane with F&F weaponry but only 75-100 SP to hop in a SPAA that rekts everything after 10 seconds of spawning, it is not fair. I am talking about top tier gameplay, not mid or low.

I’m assuming you didn’t fix the fact that Tpods use altitude unit of measurement and not distance
