Both MiG-21BiS/PFM should be considered as “indigenous modifications” since has the ability to carry the AGP-250 glide bomb.

I’m not a huge fan of the idea, but strong +1 for the effort and I would inevitably play this tree. Although I’m not sold on the idea of post-war nations starting at tier 1, I think it would be possible for this tree to do it.

  • Yak-18 (tier 1)
  • CJ-5 (tier 1)
  • CJ-6 (tier 1)
  • Po-2 (tier 1 meme plane lol)
  • SX-3 (tier 1, float plane for naval)
  • T-6D (tier 1)
  • Ki-43 (tier 2)
  • T-28 (tier 2/3)
  • L-39C (tier 4/5) - scratch that, not enough details

The KA-1 could also go tier 2, F-51D-20 down to tier 3, as the Chinese one is and La-7 can go to tier 3 to keep it in line with the Russian one, while keeping the remaining tier 4s where they are. The A-37 could also go to Tier 4, similar to the Strikemaster.

Also, as a potential Fillipino side attachment, the AJI T-610 Super Pinto could be added to tier 4/5, potentially as a squadron jet or event/battlepass plane.

There is insufficient data on whether North Korea uses the L-39. It is highly likely that North Korea has not introduced it.

That’s quite understandable as the majority are foreign bought aircraft (though modified) which i assume may not be in your interest, it’s kinda like China which also has extensively modified foreign aircraft.

However it’s well know that the United Korean Tree suggestion is being viewed for their Ground Tree.

China is still being held back and idk why. They have indigenous designs which can be added, but they aren’t. I understand tiers 1-5 are on Gaijins don’t touch list now, but low tier China Air kind of sucks right now.

I am really rooting for a United Korea tech tree, however the copy pastes may leave players wanting for more so hopefully they could at least alleviate this by giving a boost to you research if you already have that particular plane unlocked in another tech tree. Im talking like 40% more RP gain so that players can grind faster through the copy paste.

Anyways shouldnt the F-18 be at least considered for the TT? It won the F-X program IIRC but was just never bought and instead they chose to refurbish their F-4s instead. The A-10 Warthog is going to be controversial but it technically can be added since Korean Air handles the maintenance of USAF’s A-10s based in the Asia-Pacific Region.

The F-20 should be retained though as SK was the potential customer that Northrop had in mind going with it.

I’ll be honest, SK maintaining USAF A-10s is the weakest reason to introduce it to the tech tree. Already egregious enough that Sweden got Soviet stuff that it trial once or a few times (T-80 and Mi-28), which by that logic would technically allow a Korean tree to include an SK F-18 (as much as I am also against that)

They could pull a China and have a united korean tree with a starting point like Israel. If theyre desperate for the lowest of low tier additions they can probably find some spitfires, meteors and stuff from the Korean war to start them off.

Not saying it won’t be a lot of C & P but then again there’s a fair few indigenous designs nowadays like in the Chinese tree and even if it is C&P its a few new fighters, the players playing the C&P vehicles would just be in the US or Russian or Chinese tree anyway it hurts nobody.

I’d definitely be in favour of a United Korean tree.

I am fully for the addition of Korean vehicles to the game, but I felt I had to say no to an independent tech tree. I never liked the fact Israel starts at rank IV, and I wouldn’t like to see more trees like it.
I still think Korea should be added to an existing tree, or another new combined tree. North Korea is an easy decision, add it to the Chinese tech tree.
South Korea is harder. As has been WELL covered, Japan is not an option. The tree that makes the most sense in terms of alliances is also the one that makes the least sense in terms of the game and “need” which is USA. So obviously that shouldn’t happen either.
This screenshot from Wikipedia indicates strength of forces aiding the South in the Korean War which could be a possible way (albeit a weak sauce one?) to choose an ally for a combined tech tree. I have already seen opposition to Canada being it, which are right there at no.4 on the list behind USA and England.
Australia’s ties with South Korea have been increasing in modern day, with both the AS21 Redback and AS9 Huntsman being sourced there (but built/modified in Australia). And any Australian addition would by default basically include New Zealand. The ANZACs though have quite a lot of ranks I-III content but arguably not enough to quite be the standalone nations at those tiers in ground.
It’s a tough question IMO of how/where to add South Korea, hopefully it gets figured out, but I hope it’s not a “starts at rank IV tree” answer.
