Posting here because I need some help translating. I have photos of two museum signs which might contain the official North Korean designations of the T-34-85 and MiG-15, but I’m not sure. It’s not possible for me to work out what the Korean says, but maybe someone here can?
- This is the T-34-85 sign. I believe the first line could be the name, something something 39 (and I don’t know what 39 could refer to otherwise). The rest I’m pretty sure is about when it first entered Seoul during the war, and about when it was built (1944). The bottom line says Tank No. 312 (“312 ho tank”), which is the number of this particular vehicle.
Edit: Maybe it says 주체 39 → Juche 39, referring to the year 1950?
- This is the MiG-15 sign. I can’t decipher any of the characters, but the latter half almost certainly says《?2-15》, just need to know what the ? is. It has since been changed to say MiG-15 in Russian, which is why I believe this older version could well be the official name.

The Juche calendar (主體年號, Juche Yeonho) is a system of year numbering that sets the birth year of Kim Il Sung, 1912, as the starting point (Year 1). It was the official system of year notation used in North Korea from September 9, 1997, to October 12, 2024. Therefore, the year 1950 AD corresponds to Juche 39. 1950 - 1912 + 1 = 39

First pic says ‘Juche 39(1950)’, so just a year of the event and 312 is a number of that tank.
And just like what Mod said, second pic is too blurry to read but ‘미그-15(Mig-15)’ is still visible, so nothing really new.

Annoying, though. I would guess that this confirms North Korea don’t have a unique designation, and instead use the Korean transliteration (and then they switched the signs to Russian for museum visitors around the early 2000s or so)
this idea is good but if you put South Korean vehicles on your preset you can’t put any North Korean vehicles
