At this time when anti tank missiles started to become popular and better and better due to development and became more and more a danger to traditional tanks several countries started to experiment with anti tank missiles on several different vehicles such as jeeps, trailers and some tanks, as it was a big problem to transport such missiles out into the terrain.
Some of the requirements during the development and experimentation of this vehicle was to have as good protection from radioactive radiation as possible, and since steel was the best protective means available that was practical and reusable, it was decided to have an armored hull constructed on the chassis of a UNIMOG SH. this was also because they had the chassis from previous traction experiments, and that the Unimog was one of those with the very best off-road characteristics that had been tested at the time for Norwegian terrain and conditions
The bodywork is built from armored steel plates with a thickness of 5mm, 10mm and 15mm, and is divided into four rooms which are the Engine room, driver’s room, gunner’s room and rocket room, these are separated by 5mm thick spall lines to protect both machinery, ammunition and personnel from to be damaged by splinters, flames and other small fragments. The windows are also bulletproof and are 20mm thick. this meant that the carriage was safe from rifle fire and shrapnel from all sides at normal distances
when the missiles were to be fired, the gunner could either control the missiles from inside the vehicle or take the joystick (a joystick) out into the terrain with him up to 100 meters for a safer distance, perhaps also better visibility. The vehicle could then seek cover behind a hill, rocks, and various obstacles while the gunner takes up a position over to the side or on top, and directs the missile from there and also has a telephone connection with the driver of the vehicle who then has to carry out the actual firing “pull the trigger” after which the gunner takes over control and the rocket to the target
The missile rack is submerged and enclosed during transport and driving both to protect the missiles from possible fire, reduce the weight and prevent debris and reindeer from entering. When the missiles are to be prepared for firing, a part of the missile rack is lifted off the carriage so that the missiles can be fired from a specific angle. but the angle generally has little to say as the missile will be controlled by the shooter, the only problem may possibly in some cases be over short distances.
The rocket armored fighter was initially to be manned and operated by two men, and if necessary they could connect a trailer so that more missiles could be brought, judging from the size of the rockets and the size of the trailer that can be used for these probably show around 4-6 rockets. Ready for battle, the wagon’s weight would be 4.9 tonnes
The future for this vehicle was very promising, as this vehicle had very good accessibility and maneuverability both on terrain and on the road, and they had several ideas for the further variants to be built. This project, although it was somewhat promising and good, was unfortunately not carried forward, the reason for this was that the superstructure/launch ramp was far too heavy in relation to the chassis and gave far too much shifted center of gravity. this is not a good combination in the terrain or at high speeds
IN GAME
In game this could work much like the Israeli Zachlam Tager manyally guided and at an fixed angle, and the Swedish U-SH 405 in terms of mobility. Fast mobile and hard hitting, capable of reaching tactical positions fast, defend or attack.
