Ok so I actually love this game and I wish I could play it,but unfortunately as things stand it’s a source of frustration and disappointment. I was playing on PS4 and tried my best to play the game and stick with it,but as it stands currently console players are literally cannon fodder for the PC players to lvl up their research tree and get EXP. It is impossible to play against PC players and actually feel competitive,because the massive advantage they have is colossal,and it would be all good if it wasn’t for the fact that if you try to not go cross platform and play against only PS players the waiting times are ridiculously long,almost like you’re forced to be the punching bag for PC players because you can’t play otherwise. Another thing I find ridiculous is the controls available to console players,you either get mouse aim Wich is great for tracking enemy aircraft for example,but the rest of the movements makes you look like you’re spazzing in the sky because your plane jerks around at the tiniest movement you do and doesn’t respond to comands properly. But hey if you use simplified controls you can fly smoothly and actually feel like you’re flying a plane and not spazzing out,but you lose the enemy tracking/locking aim assist Wich makes it literally impossible to win a fight against a player using mouse and keyboard… I was so disappointed at this that I deleted the game from my console,and I know many will say,good riddance nobody will miss you,but I really liked this game and had played it before on PC,but now I don’t have access to a PC and only have my PS4,and I was looking forward to playing this game and discovering the many aircraft and other vehicles available to grind,but It’s not worth the frustrating feeling that you’re only playing to serve as EXP for PC players who can one shot you with a well aimed shot using mouse while console players either have to chose between aiming well and moving like the plane has epilepsy,or moving well but not able to dogfight properly because you can’t lock on to enemies and can’t control the aircraft as well as they can. So I just thought I would make a suggestion before I leave this game in hopes those who play console find a better game than I did. My suggestion is that you allow console players using a controller to be able to have the option of having the camera/aim lock that’s on mouse aim available on the simplified controls,this will be a massive improvement for console players who only have a controller to play and it will even the playing field a lot more for them when facing PC players. Either that or improve the console matchmaking so people don’t have to wait until old age to play a round. It’s not a lack of console players making the matchmaking as bad as it is for consoles,so I think improvements can be made for those who don’t have a PC and can’t afford one but would still love to play war thunder… Thank you for your time if you read this and I hope you guys start thinking more about console players with controllers because as it stands you will lose a lot of supporters and players because things are not fair as they are.

So tou can’t read… I cannot afford one,and as things are right now I doubt many can either. But yeah I was already counting on some snobs coming along and dismissing what I said instead of realizing just how good this would be for the game,it would bring a lot morw players from a market that is not strong at this time because of the massive disadvantage.
Rewards are naturally bad in my opinion specially in ground battles and in naval battles since it’s another world to dominate is much more slower than air and ground combined for sure. There are differences in between performance of PC players and Console players in War Thunder because of the complexity of the controls but at the same time freedom to adjust controls as you wish. I might be wrong but there’s a hint that you haven’t fully configured the controls in a way that makes you perform as you wish—I’ve seen Console players perform well in battles, either they are good or have good control configuration or even have a keyboard + mouse plugged.
There are no way to disable cross-play in War Thunder, either you adapt your configurations or buy a keyboard + mouse, I don’t want to sound mean specially given that it’s truly hard to play on controller if you’re used to keyboard + mouse—sometimes I have to switch in between even in games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2 have much more simpler configurations, while in War Thunder you can set-up axis, behaviour (two clicks, when released, etc.); but with 20 battles I’ll have to guess that you’re using this disadvantage that many players go through yet they do perform good to cope with your lack of knowledge on the game, either that or your account being used here on the Forums is an alternative to your main one if you even have.
Use mouse and keyboard with our PS4 is no Option?
I did try to configure the controls,even watched a bunch of tutorials and searched online on Reddit and other forums for advice,but at the end of the day it will never even be close. And the console players you see doing good are using keyboard and mouse for sure,but I don’t have one available at this time,if I have to buy one to be able to play I don’t think it’s worth it, especially when a couple of changes would be enough to make up for the short falls controllers have. And yes,you can disable cross platform on war thunder,at least on PS4 you can,but if you do it the waiting times are absurd and it ends up not being worth it. Instead try to put yourself in other people’s shoes,not everyone has money to be spending on stuff like a keyboard and mouse just to play 1 single game, if your answer is this than that ok, but don’t pretend it’s not a problem when there’s been multiple complaints about this on other forums and even reddit,and just like now people like you come with some bs instead of trying to understand the people talking about this.
believe me or not, I ve had new rig built some three months and I felt like I was getting onto last chopper out of saigon.
Yes you can use it,but I don’t own any,and i don’t have the money to be buying them just for this 1 game. It was a simple suggestion,I now PC players will always have the advantage due to the sheer number of controls war thunder has,but this particular thing I believe could help controller players to feel less like target practice in matches.
Brother I can only imagine with the prices rising as they are now…

I played I think close to 20 battles and the rest of the time I spent on free flight in-between those battles trying to find a configuration that would at least make it fun instead of frustrating to play. Like I said above I had already played this game on PC and had a blast,but with a controller I genuinely felt like I was only target practice and EXP for players with mouse and keyboard.
going from for example Iceland to Brazil you will feel the change right? you came from PC played 20 games on console and decided it was just trash you just need more practice its a whole different kind of thing
I payed 163€ for a second hand PS4 with a controller and 2 games,I’m in Europe,not the US,and I’m not in one of those rich countries where people have a good disposable income to be buying stuff at random. Like I said above not everyone has the money to make that choice bro…
