You wouldn’t believe in what the Pandora’s Box situation that the inclusion of captured vehicles during this conflict would create.
Follow up the suggestion thread.
No offense, but this has zero substance, it’s just another China situation where there’s literally nothing unique except modified vehicles, copied vehicles, or just straight copy and paste. you would have zero reason to play the U.S, Russia, or Germany since you could just get their MBT’s quicker, and all one one tree. It would also be an Israel situation where you start the tree stupidly far in which is really just not good for the game Imo, I’d love to see more Ukrainian vehicles in game, but they’d have to go to the Russian sub tree, and Russia REALLY does not need a sub tree.
Nope, what makes you think so?
More than a zero chance of them becoming a sub-tree of Poland.
Yeah, adding vehicles captured by Ukraine will result in vehicles captured by Russia also being added, even if only including vehicles that where taken in operational condition that will include Bradleys, L2A5s and M1A1SA Abrams. As funny as the resulting meltdowns would be, you would NEVER hear the end of it.
Besides the whole thing is to much of a hot topic to have a rational conversation about it and probably be so well after the conflict ends. Look at the fights people have over Taiwan being in the same tree as mainland China despite both mainland China and Taiwan both having it in their constitutions that Taiwan and the mainland are both ONE China.
For the Polish tech tree only 💪 💪💪
For the Polish tech tree only as well 💪💪💪
Which also Poland would fall under the same exact situation if not a potential, very far away sub-tech tree or Germany, a distant possibility. You can list the thousands of different vehicles and I doubt that Gaijin will add even 1/3 of these vehicles you listed where it’s actually unique and not another T-72 modification under a new designation.
One thing it’s a realistic placement, Taiwan has no other place but being part of the chinese tech tree. The other thing is Ukraine—which most of the vehicles in the Soviet Union tech tree were made in today’s Ukraine territory, but people will have their minds on USSR = Russia in War Thunder, although Russia as operator takes up 11% of the entirety of the tech tree.
If I comment on cloudzy’s post above I’m gonna get suspended again.
I’ll just say -1 cuz most of that is CnP
I think so Because literally every “unique” vehicle from Ukraine is literally just a modification of a T-80 or T-72, and tech trees are already becoming slopified, nothing’s unique anymore and they really need to stop doing shit like adding leopards to Japan, or the oplot (I’m a Japan main, before you say anything), why bother picking a nation if they’re just going to give every nation every vehicle? I originally started on the U.S because I wanted to play the Abrams, as well as having hopes I could play the F-15 and F-111 in the future (hadn’t been added by that point), now there’s no fucking point because I can get the Abrams on China, and Britain,The f-15 on Japan, and Israel. We don’t need to add copyslop to more nations.
Yeah, please don’t get in trouble again, I’m just using it as an example, I know there are some legitimate issues with the Chinese tree, I’m not trying to gloss over that, but I also do not want to derail this topic.
These are not the same just because both have “Abrams” in there:
USA MBTs
CN MBTs
If you only want US vehicles, you pick the US. There’s already a ton of people doing that, it’s a popular nation and an equally popular techtree. No nation will ever have everything the US has, because even assuming any nation had bought everything the US ever exported (none have), there’s more than twice that worth of things that were never exported.
There will never be “USA but better”. At best you might find a techtree that has everything you personally care about in the US techtree, especially if that boils down to only two or three general vehicle families, but realistically (like for your example), you’d still have to play two or more other nations to get what you’d want out of the US tree there. For example there’s:
- Abrams; USA, Australia (UK), Taiwan, (CN)
- F-15; USA, Japan, Israel
- F-111; USA, Australia (UK)
The only techtree that has all three is the US one, so that’s already still the most efficient option even if you don’t care which variant of each you get. And this will even stay that way because Australia (the only F-111 operator outside of the US) never had F-15s.
No more full tech trees – Sub-trees only
Even Israel would be better off as a sub-tree under the USA (perhaps in its own new tab/folder), rather than a fully independent tree.
I agree, but prepare for a bunch of people to begin “explaining” why a few vismods and a Hebrew name make all the M-48s completely unique and that you couldn’t possibly make a mod on USA planes to turn them into the Israeli version by changing the load outs from AIM-9 to pythons etc.
side fold:
There’s still a lot of great full techtrees they could add, they’d probably need multiple nations to work compared to the existing nations that are either big superpowers or have subtrees too, but that shouldn’t disqualify them when all it does is make them equal to 8/10 nations in game.
I do agree here though, Israel was a really weird techtree choice over many nations that could do it better like Poland for example. Maybe they just didn’t want USA to have a subtree and didn’t know what else do do with them?
I mean we already have confirmation on a Dual Korea tree. If we only go subtrees, then there’s going to be increasingly less vehicles for both the host and subs (which is saying something since look at Romania, India and Benelux in their host tree additions)
These modifications can have a noticeable or significant difference e.g Donets being a T-80UD with a modified Shilka turret or the T-72-120 which is self explanatory

Although I do agree that Ukraine being added standalone will be difficult due to a small amount of unique aircraft.
To be fair there’s around 54 post 1991 vehicles from the former USSR states if I’m counting right of which 53 are Russian while the Su-25BM is the only vehicle operated by a former USSR nation (Kazakhstan even if the modernisation was done in Belarus) that isn’t Russia. Meanwhile we have the Lithuanian Vilkas in the German tree. At this point I feel like Gajin isn’t even that keen on integrating the other post soviet nations to the USSR tree.
Polish tech tree will be peak 🤞
Not gonna be coming anytime soon with Gaijin being Russian
It’s a bit of an Israel situation with the tech tree, there just isn’t a whole lot for unique vehicles below ~7.7, and those that could be added below that would just be copy pasta.
So logically the only option is to add Ukraine as a sub tree, but to which nation?
The USSR wouldn’t fit, as not only does the USSR tree already have more than enough vehicles, but also the whole Russia invading Ukraine thing.
Germany has a similar issue, way too packed of a TT already to justify copy paste, and still lots of more unique vehicles to add.
Sweden seems promising, but again, it would have to solely consist of non-copy pasta.
The UK is in a similar vain, but arguably doesn’t need it or would only really get vehicles that we given to Ukraine from other countries like Poland, which would fit a lot better than a Ukrainian Polish upgraded T72.
The US just doesn’t need it.
There could be an argument for Italy getting the Ukrainian sub tree. Like giving Italy a Ukrainian Stormer HVM so that the 10.7 spaa isn’t just the same OSA and Strela that every other country seems to get. Or a Ukrainian Marder 1A3 so that the 8.0 light tank line isn’t just wheely bois with recoiless rifles.
IDK, it’s always going to be difficult to add a subtree or even a full nation without resorting to copy paste. And the few vehicles that could due with being added could probably be added in other ways.
