Honestly it’s probably a better thing they phase them out anyways. They are a really cool modernization but they are 20 years old and taking on the Leopard 2A8’s and streamlining the logistics to just Leopard 2’s instead of having two separate MBT’s will help make them a more capable military. Now what would be really cool but probably unlikely is if they used a modernized form of DYNA ERA on there new Leopard’s.
Logistical Hell
hey if it works … it works
I saw that somewhere before on a Polish Chassis, it some sort laser guided rocket system?
It’s the APKWS II rockets from in-game.
Modernization project «FrankenSAM» SAM system based on Buk-M1 launchers equipped with RIM-7 missiles.
Oh boy, another thread warning soon?
You’re wrong. There are no Nizh or Dupllet layers.
There are only different types of HSCHKV elements. The same ones can be both Nizh and Duplet.
Is there any evidence that the DU1 was equipped with a thermal imager? It looks like it has an old sight.
Yeah, there are a plethora of sources stating so, but I deleted all my archived sources on the T-80UD (Pakistan) to clear up space. The Buran Catherine-E thermal imager uses the same sight housing as the Buran NVD sight, hence the ‘Buran’ part of the name. We also know this by the lack of a IR spotlight and the military requirements of Pakistan.
The first 15 batches lacked them but Pakistan threatened to cancel the order and Ukraine obviously got their game sorted afterwards
The Pakistani T-80UDs also use a new meteorological sensor, that probably being the same(ish) as the one found on the T-84 - this should also be present on the T-80UD/DU1 we’ve got in-game, one of few model inaccuracies it has in-game.

Good point about the name and how it refers to one hull.
I’m just a little skeptical due to the literally zero information about these tanks.
It’s strange that there’s so little information, including photos.
That’s more a issue with when the vehicles were precured, they were first upgraded/produced in the late 1990s and because of this, footage is scarce and hard to come by. There IS footage of the vehicles being produced however but many online sources tend to get the standard T-80UD 478B and T-80UD 478BE/DU1 mixed up.
Here is footage of the testing for the vehicle and its production
More information can be found on the T-80UD in the topic I created a while back.
The elements are different sized depending on the type of ERA used. Looking at the way the armor is set up, it’s supposed to be slightly different. There’s three layers of ERA in the side armor. I’ll need to find the manual. The information was either on Rumor Roundup or the Devserver BM Oplot-T page
I already said you’re wrong. Nozh and Duplet are ERA names. Both contain HSChKV-19 and 34 explosive elements. Both the Ukrainian and Thai Oplot BM use two layers of HSChKV-19A (aluminum, ineffective) and one layer of HSChKV-34P (copper, fairly effective) on the sides.
