I wonder what thoughts must have gone through those engineer’s minds. They looked at two T-80Us they captured and went, “Hm, what if we throw on captured Relikt and T-90M parts on it, then add some Nizh and drone hoods?”
where’d you got that from bud?
These are T-80Us. The turret is still T-80U underneath with Relikt container arrangement added over from disabled T-90Ms.
I’m surprised the turret fit at all on the chassis as they don’t share the same Autoloader design and from my understanding (I could be wrong) the T-84 has a few changes in it’a autoloading system compared to the older T-80s. Not only this, I’m shocked the turret is all functional. Seeing how its source vehicle was knocked out (usually the turret is what goes first no?).
In the meantime I’ll change it until more information comes out.
I thought it was a T-84 with a T-90M turret only because the vision ports are differing from the basic T-80Us we have in game. The Turret is welded (which doesn’t prove it to be a T-90M turret. But the only other tanks I’ve known to have a welded scheme were the T-80UD, and the T-84). I didn’t get a good look at the power pack so yeah. Idk. But I’ll correct it and leave it as be unless someone else has differing information on it.
But it certainly makes more sense for it to be a T-80U (with UD turret) or a T-84 with T-90M parts all over it.
That certainly had to be an interesting choice lmaoo.
Picture 1-3 represent the modified T-80U
Picture 4 represents the modufued T-80BV
Thailand also uses Chinas VT4 MBT lol imagine if they put the Ukrainian and Chinese MBT into Japans Tree
Oops my bad then! Idk why some late T-80s don’t have the top guarding of the drivers port. But hey thanks for the info anyway.
Ahh, okay I’m starting to see the issue here.
I think these images are partly culprit to my confusion. The T-80s cast turrets (even the more rounded ones) frontally have a fairly flat bottom. Especially the 476 turret. And that one photo that looked like a bustle rack area.

T-80U it is!
Ukrainian tanks yes tech tree no it will be more copy paste than China. make it subtree
Make it a subtree for what nation?
Eastern European TT
I say best bet is Polish and Ukrainian tree, but I mean that still could cause contraversy.
I don’t like the Eastern European TT idea just because it will cause so much contraversy on many different levels.
Also secondly it wouldn’t be a “Eastern European TT”, it would be a Slavic tree since Romania and Hungary are already apart of Italy and the Baltics unfortunately wouldnt have much to add. This leaves just Poland, Czechia i Slovakia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Now I know Belarus wouldn’t ever be included in a EE TT, so it would just have to be between Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Ukraine. Would be a great tech tree, but just too much stuff to implement into one tree, and also there is some bad blood still between Poland and Ukraine.
Currently in-game there is no suitable nation for Ukraine (I mean if you want to have some hope, its technically in-game apart of USSR as it was a member state of USSR, but in-game USSR is actually just Russia not all of USSR).
Only Ukrainian vehicles we could hope to get anytime soon are vehicles made in the Ukrainian SSR during communist times (we have one example of this already: T-80UD) or Thailand. It wouldn’t have the Ukrainian flag, but maybe in the future Gaijin could give SSR specific flags to different vehicles, Ukrainian SSR for T-80UD, Georgian SSR for Su-25, etc.
Now Thailand is a great thing that could have a few different Ukrainian vehicles (off the top of my head T-84 Oplot-T and BTR-3). This is the best hope but unfortunately after gajin adds subtrees they just forget about them. Example: Hungarian props that were promised to come soon after launch of Hungary Subtree (we dont have them), Finnish ground is pretty forgotten, South Africa fairs a little better but still pretty forgotten by the devs.
Anyway, short answer is subtree for no nation currently in-game, little hope (in my opinion) for “EE TT”, but if we get Thai ground, for sure we will see a good amount of Ukrainian ground vehicles.
Not only that, the tech tree would be too large, you wouldn’t be able to fit in all the vehicles that players want.
IF T-84 oplot-t will be added through Thai subtree for Japan, what capabilities will it have? How effective will the duplet era in the game?
Duplet would be the best ERA system in the game, being superior to Relikt, though the base composite armor would be subpar on the hull front. But the ERA + what is left of the composite armor should be enough to stop about every APFSDS round in the game. It would most likely use improved Chinese APFSDS rounds and would have a second gen thermal sight, And as for mobility, it should be quite good. The 32 kilometer per hour reverse speed would probably be the biggest advantage.
