Type 928D patrol boat(928D型巡逻艇)

History

The type 928D patrol boats(also sometimes refered to as “assault boats”) are border patrol boats that belong to the Ngari Military Subdistrict’s Pangong Tso patrol boat company(班公湖水上中队), which is often nicknamed the “west sea fleet”; These boats belong to the People’s Liberation Army Ground Force, and operate in the lake in the tibet autonomus region.
The Pangong Tso maritime company is used as a border defense unit in the lake of pangong tso on the China-India border.
The current equitment of the pangong tso maritime company are the type 928 series of patrol boats, the most modern of which, the type 928D, entered service in 2020, and currently serves alongside it’s predecessor, the type 928C, which has more of a transport role. They have been involved in border disputes between china and india.
The type 928D patrol boat is can conduct operations such as inland border patrol in rivers and lakes, transporting personnel and search and rescue; it is produced by Changzhou FRP Shipyard in Changzhou, jiangsu.
The type 928D patrol boat is also capable of breaking ice.

The QJC-88 is a vehicle mounted variant of the W85 machine gun which entered service in 1988. It has been used on many remote weapons systems on chinese vehicles before, such as the VT4A1. QJC stands for: qingwuqi(轻武器, light weapon)-jiqiang(机枪, machine gun)-chezai(车载, vehicle mounted)
