Hey everyone! Today I would like to present to you a specific little known modification of the Type 90 operated by the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force!
With the major versions of the Type 90 already being implemented there are some more obscure versions left. today I’m here to pitch to the idea for one of them. The Type 90 with T-ReCs.
History:
TL;DR: A regular Type 90 with Tank Regiment Command and Control system.
There isn’t a lot of history in regards to this modification, mainly due to it being unique to the 2nd Tank Regiment. This modification started being made around 2009 and was first tested during the 玄武2010 excercise. Following this exercise there aren’t a lot of mentions about this system but considering not even all the Type 90’s from the 2nd Tank Regiment ended up with it the result was most likely not too positive.
In 2014 this entire system started to be replaced by the Field Communication System “Yatuu” (野通), the modified Type 90’s still show the external modifications but I can’t really confirm nor deny if they still have the hardware inside, considering the system has been replaced though the hardware would be rather dead weight if it was present.
If anybody has more historical information please let me know as I wasn’t able to dig up a lot sadly enough!

In-Game:
This part will be a bit more interesting, considering it’s Command and Control system I propose adding this Type 90 modification and giving it the reconnaissance ability ingame. Due to it’s relative identical abilities otherwise and with the lack of a squadron vehicle at this BR when compared to other nations I would say that adding it like this would solve this gap in a rather unique way.
If there is a need to further differentiate this Type 90 with the regular one, this can also be solved in the same way that the Leopard 2A4 from the 123rd Panzer Battalion was, by giving it a camo net as is shown below
Or even more unique (comparatively) the winter version
