Type 10 series steering broken since 2021, will it be finally fixed?

EDIT: I just made a new, more detailed bug report with the text provided by zarusoba10. Make sure to support it!

Making a topic on this section in a desperate attempt to draw some attention to the topic, since it appears countless “accepted” and “acknowledged” bug reports since 2021 haven’t been enough.

I really hope they fix this problem

What bothers me is that Turret Rotation and elevation speed.

How come one of the most advanced tank doesnt have similiar gun handling that other MBT’s have.

Type 10’s are a existing bug report, the composite armor barely works/TKX you can just MG it (cause composites dont exist on it apparently)

Same on Type-90, got killed couple times through armor holes.

I agree with all of you hahahah.

The Type 10s are indeed plagued with issues that really hold back their fun potential.

This issue is caused by an abnormally low “moment of inertia around the roll axis” in the Type 10 tank’s configuration file.

In this game, the difficulty in turning caused by the distribution of weight is simply controlled by a constant called “moment of inertia.” The current Type 10 tank has the same moment of inertia values around the roll and yaw axes as lighter vehicles such as the German Wiesel. This causes the Type 10 to exhibit the overly sensitive turning that has been cited as an issue.

To fix this, Gaijin should simply need to change two numbers in the configuration file.

Thank you for the detailed breakdown! You should make a report with the suggested solution just in case they somehow haven’t figured out.

This is what makes it so outrageous. The issue has persisted for FOUR years by now even though its fix is a change on two mere lines.

My guess is they did this intentionally in an attempt at making the tank feel lighter or more agile, but, because of the lack of regenerative steering, it’s more detrimental than beneficial, as it makes it bleed speed quicker and earlier upon any attempted turns.

In addition, the Type 90 also has an issue with the magnification of its gun sight.

Gun handling is still just a placeholder from Type 90 tanks.

This tank has no armor so it needs the snappiness.

If reload times can be pulled from thin air because balancing purposes, then turret rotation and gun handling can be applied that way too.

I just made the report with your text. Thank you for your efforts!

Bug reports are an utter and absolute waste of time and effort. For FOUR YEARS has this blatant issue been reported in various ways, with various sources, with video evidence, with logic, and now, even the literal faulty code. Yet everything is purposefully done to actively refuse to fix the issue.

The Type 10s can’t make the slightliest turn without losing 15-25 km/h every time because of this… how is this acceptable? How haven’t they done anything yet about it?

EDIT: God, I hate being angry at Gaijin, I really do. it’s been a long while since I’ve made a post like this because I just preferred to appreciate and focus on the good things. But the rejection of this bug report for the tenth time over all these 4 years really has hit a nerve on me.

If Gaijin’s working on a physics overhaul for tanks, I wouldn’t be surprised if all relevant bug reports are waiting for that overall as well.

Please. Please. Please. Please. Please… let this be the case and shall we have proper physics and mobility, specially for advanced tanks!

Including but not limited to Regenerative Steering, which has been “accepted” since 2017 as a suggestion.

That being said… until then, they should still take 27 seconds to fix this issue as a stop-gap. Well, they could and should have done it at any point in these full 4 years, but… still.

How many years we wait for regenerative steering yet it doesnt come ? xd It simple as copy and paste wheeled vehicles behavior: while in motion past 20kmh do X steering below that, do Y steering with parameters that certain tanks can have ( how much turn circle will change depending on speed). Type 10/TKX problem would be solves in mere seconds but devs doesnt want it. they want it to be broken the way it is now. Imagine, simple update, 10 seconds and voila ! Your tank is repaired !

But no, no here, when snail is looking at “FUN” - o - meter and keeping it at zero level.

Imagine almost the most modern tank in the game that have CVT transmission, drives like a car basically, weights mere 44tons with powerfull af engine, should be faster than Type 90 but in the game its mobility is garbage and it slows down by half the moment you press turn key.

I was hyped about it, grinded it like crazy, spaded it but i dont want to come back and see 44 ton tank being out speeded by T-72B3 at the turns

How can be literal clue how to solve the problem not be accepted automatically ? Even as a suggestion or something ?

Thing is, this bug is even beyond additional mechanics like CVT or Regenerative Steering; it’s simply and straight out a technical bug on a line of code compared to every other vehicle.

You brought up concerns about those, which I understand, but are a completely separate topic from this technical bug that’s ruining Type 10’s mobility.

I think it’s important for us not to mix up the matters; as otherwise they will ignore the bug and reply to the other matters only, stating that they are not a part of the game yet and therefore not an issue.

it penetrated although no internal compartment’s were damaged

it has some armor however it appears to just be the cheeks

I just hope they fix this issue with the type 10’s (cause imagine physics overhaul and the type 10 just rolls over)
