Idk, Maybe if they modeled the actual electrical/hydraulic wires in the basket, i’d be alright with it.
The basket should be there to stop fragments from hitting crew with the chance to partially disable the turret drive on a direct hit.
Maybe for Leopard 2 with spall liners Abrams didn’t had that feature so it was vunerable to side shots now i think it can save one or two crew member occasionnaly.
So you want an additional layer of repairable spall liners with little to no downsides.
I’m glad you aren’t in charge of balancing.
Wait, are you claiming that turret baskets stop spall?
Guy I’m replying to definitely does.
He wants it to be implemented as a repairable spall liner, what it currently does isn’t something he discussed.
yeah because
thats what that is irl and what it should be
turret basket =/= horizontal turret drive
ur sounding like the old Alvis
the turret basket should be something like when u hit the fuel tank(ofc not to that level)
but it should not create more spall
I’m glad Gaijin decides to not implement awful changes that would increase the powercreep even more.
Giving tanks repairable spall liners with little to no downsides is just that.
I would argue that adding the turret baskets was an awful change, implemented not across the board and in a lazy and bad way. They simply add to the abrams pre-existing badly implemented turret drive system and all but ensure your horizontal drive is out when you’re hit.
They’re just… awful.
They don’t have turret baskets, that’s why…
Their auto loader is their ‘turret basket’ and all their horizontal drives are stored in the turret and the turret sits on top of the tank, which is why you get that ‘T-Tank turret toss’
ofc yes. Postpen survival is great even in my 72b…
It would be far, far worse if the autoloader carousel often didn’t act as a spall shield.
Only bad thing is that it wasn’t added to all vehicles in a single update, but seeing how dozens of vehicles are eligible to get a basket it’s to no surprise Gaijin haven’t done that.
And that is the problem. its the same mistake gaijin make again and again.
A survivability nerf is fine, if it happens to everyone at the same time.
The abrams is particuly badly affected. It already had a crippling issue with the turret drive going out when the engine compartment is penetrated which gaijin refuse to address, and this just made it worse.
yeah because that is how it is irl
gaijin literally just nerf it instead of actually making it accurate
its an awful change because
- Its wrong
- Its a nerf to the abrams instead of a buff, because it create more spall instead of eating it
Its the same as the autoloader but its worse because it cripple and kills every single one of ur crew
the autoloader on T-xx series can eat round and can protect spall, its also a “repairable spall liners” from the way ur saying it
so why not give abrams the same things as the T-xx? because on RU can have it yeah?
No, and anyone else who tells you otherwise is either extremely lucky (they were playing the tank) or unlucky (they shot the tank), every single time I shoot any T-Tank, T-80 or T-72 with any APDS/FS rounds it’s usually 1-shot 1-kill, on even a lot of NATO tanks.
This really should have been an all-or-nothing feature. Either everyone gets it or no one does.
Look at his autoloader; it’s out of ammo.
