The Turkmen Airforce has its roots from 1991, the year marking the end of the USSR, inheriting a number of approx. 300 Soviet aircraft composed of MiG-23, -21, Su-7 etc. Nowadays this number has reduced to a mere 100 aircraft composed of MiG-29 , Su-25, Su-17 , Mil-Mi 24 including a few Western tech like the Italian Aermacchi M-346 Master fighter and the Brazilian A-29 Super Tucano bought during the Covid times. Given of how unique this roundel‘s design is, it really deserves a place in the roundel section.
This roundel version was introduced in 2011, before it was shaped like a standard roundel.
