What you can do for starters is to stop playing top tier. This drooling over top tier is annoying af and it is leaving out a lot of fun things from the Cold War and WW2 that can still be added.
For a realistic game, top tier feels like a CS:GO server. Unrealistically accurate cannon control is ridiculous. Just play Squad and try to hit any of the so called “weak spots”. You won’t.
My cut off point is at 9.3. I play nothing above that.
Squad doesn’t have realistic damage models and uses HP bars, with some things modeled like ammo/turret ring tracks, but not crew. They also decided to not have laser range finder updating the sight position to make it a bit more fun, but its not hard to hit leopard ammo and 1 shot it from the front, or ammo rack an Abrams side aspect above 3rd? road wheel.
What squad does better for realism is forcing people into realistic views like drivers port, commanders/gunner sights so you can’t abuse 3rd person camera to look at stuff you wouldn’t otherwise be able to see, or use binos without having an exposed crew member.
Yes, that is true. But, surgical strikes (like the drivers port), with Squad mechanics and realistic sights, are near impossible. I played with BMP-1s and T-62s as a 2 man crew a lot, and I always attack the centre of mass in hopes that I got the range right. Also, the vehicle combat in squad in general is much much slower.
Soviet tanks have a different skill curve.
Your guns on average are less powerful than competitors until autoloaded MBTs, so you need to have weakspot knowledge entirely packed into your mind.
For the guns that are powerful, they’re reloading once every 25 - 35 seconds.
Those flaws tend to be made up by mobility… or armor, and usually never both.
Soviet tanks in War Thunder really are a representation of what they’re like in the real world.
The only benefit they have in War Thunder is no parallax in the main game modes and a skilled playerbase, oh and a BR system that allows the tanks to be BR’d correctly.
The tanks are good for their BRs usually, just a different playstyle requirement a lot of the time.
he’s using the objectively terrible ‘but muh tournament’ argument, the one has been ruled out numerous times because its a sealed environment with even rules and conventions that doesn’t apply in a normal game.
Using tournaments as a metric to evaluate which vehicles are good or not while lineups are arbitrariely elaborated by the organizers its just another piece of evidence of why the argument is fundamentally flawed.
Tanks are okay if you enjoy their specific playstyle of just holding W and hoping armor saves your ass. If you enjoy other playstyles plenty of other tanks are straight up superior.
That being said, benefits of RU mostly come from the air, so if you aren’t into that you’ll miss out on a lot of their overall power.
I love the people that say o Russian bias exists but they try to center mass every Russian MBT from the front and then when there round gets eaten by copious amounts of ERA they wonder why it didn’t pen
As somebody who is playing Russia I’m telling you there is no Russian bias you just getting gaijined And yes it happens more with the Russian tanks because in this game ERA is a very badly modeled I had multiple experiences when enemy round just ignore my era or sometimes my era stops the round it should have not
You have to learn to just deal with this game not being perfect
i scan around with CITV on the abrams
it has thermal which help with spotting easier
binocular isnt very like entire useful when u have CITV that has more zoom
binocular is only use when the obstacle are too high to be see with CITV
Be careful, anyone who’s played Russia is not allowed to deny Russian bias, because they are quite obviously Russian sympathizers. Only people who have never played the tanks they claim are OP can put out the factual statement that Gaijin prefers Russia.
