Transfer of console-created accounts suspended until further notice

Oh, i’m not part of the dev team, i have no influence over development and no contact with the developers. Game Masters mostly handle in-game chat and name bans, other than that i’m at the same level as any other player. :)

I’m confused, was this feature just to be able to play with you psn account on pc or completly unlink your account from psn and be able to use gaijin market and other pc features? Could someone let me know?

yeah if you get unlink you are just normal pc player you get pacs on pc and gm. Now you just have no pacs on pc no gm and no perks from console on pc like aim asist etc (thats good but still you only lose)

I see, so a lot of us on this are playing with our psn created accounts on pc and gaijin has shut off the feature to make our accounts have pc created account features. Is this correct?

What truly confuses me is that the transfer service appears to have been shut down permanently—three full years of complete radio silence is more than enough to reach that conclusion, leaving the waiting time effectively infinite. Why can’t they simply release an official announcement stating: “This service has been permanently terminated. You may create new accounts to start over. No further updates will be provided; this is the final notice.”

Truly dedicated players would register new PC accounts and begin anew, generating fresh revenue for Gaijin. Those unwilling to invest more money and time would either leave or keep playing their existing accounts casually, ceasing complaints in forums and sparing Gaijin’s staff constant harassment. Surely this is far better than keeping things stuck in this perpetual state of limbo?

Because that would mean its a waste of time to start it on the consoles. Better to keep it in the middle and keep everyone in the LIMBOOOOO 👻👻👻

Dear Snail,

It’s getting closer and closer to 3 years without being able to transfer accounts to pc. I’ve played this game for a long time and sadly didn’t have a pc when needing/wanting to transfer. It would be amazing if we could actually hear something about it as it would make a lot of us happier if we could transfer our accounts. I’ve spent a handful of money personally on this game and can’t let my console account go because of it.

In short we would love to hear some news about it. We know it may not be the easiest thing to do backend wise, but it sure would make us even happier, and I’m sure my fellow console account snail lovers would agree.

Please just open it one last time for us out here who couldn’t make it to the last one, it would mean the most to us. I’ve had this account since 2019, but on console for the longest time and want to transfer it over.

Thanks,
Snail Lover

You can actually play on PC, you just won’t have access to the store or the marketplace.

If you use your live login on your PC, and access the MS Store with it, you can install War Thunder from there and you’ll be on PC.

You’d just want to hold your console ‘just in case’ maybe, or at least have complete control over the email it’s linked to.

I understand that (i’ve been using it on pc since shortly after the last transfer) but I wanna be able to use the marketplace; as so do many others. In my opinion I would’ve thought that allowing the transfers still (even if they may be hard) would be a good benifit as it will likely drag in more activity from people who wanna buy something on the marketplace, like myself.

I just think it’s worth some trouble. If they opened them once a year even that would be really nice. Most of us who transfer or want to transfer our accounts are (IMO) more likely to spend money on the marketplace shortly after getting the transfer.

I just think it’s worth revisiting and opening them after almost 3 years. Exspecially sense some of us play this game a lot and want to use all the bells and whistles.

Yea, I commonly mention I do support opening up the transfers again, it’s just a wonder how backlogged they will be when they do open it up again.

yeahh true. May be backlogged for a while but would def make so many people happy. I really hope they give some information in a reply. If they opened them in time for Christmas that would be even better IMO

Three years without a meaningful update is an unacceptable and frankly DISGRACEFUL level of communication. Players deserve better than prolonged silence on an issue that has been raised repeatedly. SILENCING CRITICISM rather than addressing the underlying issue is not maintaining trust within the community. Like there was ever “trust” to begin with LOL.
