Transfer of console-created accounts suspended until further notice

Not even close…

I made a comment to a user that said they could use AI and have it done in a week, i said it isn’t that simple, then you jumped into that comment and turned this into the discussion we are now having as if what i was saying applied to the entire thread all at once.

It hasn’t:

Not what i was saying…

Sigh… The issue with the law is that it controls HOW they can do things WHICH MAKES IT HARDER TO DO, not impossible, doesn’t stop them from doing it, MAKES IT HARDER, TAKE LONGER AND BE MORE CONVALUTED.

That is EXACTLY what i’m doing…

There isn’t a difference, it’s the exact same, when you create a console account for War thunder it is ONE single account that also works for PC, it’s just two different ways of accessing the exact same, single, thing:

I don’t understand your point here, you said they didn’t copy personal data, but they copy the ENTIRE account to a new empty one. How in the world does that then NOT contain personal data?

There it is again, “stopping”, when did i claim “stopping”?

WHICH MAKES IT HARDER TO DO, not impossible, doesn’t stop them from doing it, MAKES IT HARDER, TAKE LONGER AND BE MORE CONVALUTED.

You have completely failed to see my point here, i have acknowledged your point multiple times but yet you keep answering me as if i’m opposing the entire idea of a transfer even being possible when i have not done so at all. If you cannot fathom this then i’m done here, there is no point in trying to explain my point to someone who thinks i’m talking about something different even though i have clarified multiple times that that isn’t what i’m saying or talking about.

You are circling yourself now and this is going no where.

You brung up law and steered this to where we are now.
All I have done is respond to you.
You, just like the couple people before you, tried bringing law into this without any understanding of it and without caring to consider that Gaijin already manipulates our data.
It doesnt matter if Gaijin copies our email to make a new pc account, or if they copy our email to make a console linked account when we first start playing on console. The act of copying our data is still being done, and I assume that Gaijin is already doing so within the scope of the law.

You are circling yourself now, trying to repeat yourself and somehow get validation from it? Im not really sure where you are wanting to go with this anymore.

Back to the original issue of law preventing/making more difficult the transfers.
If law was a factor it would have been an issue before now with the current transfer system.
If law was an issue with the way Gaijin handles our personal data, it would have been an issue before now.
There are policy’s on what can be transferred, but those policy’s are between Gaijin and the console companies and only restrict what can be transferred. (See my earlier post about it)
The dev has admitted the transfer issue exists simply because they aren't working on it.

Any difficulties arising from laws, would already be being dealt with in Gaijin’s current actions with our data and would not make a process they already engage in anymore difficult than it already is. Automating the transfers only makes life simpler for Gaijin.

If Gaijin makes ANY changes to the process, all the previous compliances has to be re-checked, re-documented and made sure they still follow that law. They cant just change how they do things and assume that they are still in compliance. That is not how that works at all. You obviously haven’t worked in any managerial position within the EU in the last 7 years, if you had you would have known this. I have.

It VERY likely was. That doesn’t mean it won’t be a problem again when making changes/additions to the process.

For that specific process, and they have clearly stated they need to change the process Extensively .

Absolutely, i’m not arguing against this at all. I’m ONLY arguing this:

This has been my ONLY point during this, → ONLY

Honestly, after a whole year of basically saying NOTHING about this topic officially, they either need to figure something out, or just come out and say, “No, we will not be bringing this service back, make a new account”. Because at this point, I’d rather hear that Gaijin doesn’t care and would rather make a good amount of players either quit or make new, from-scratch accounts, than hear nothing at all for another year.

@Necronomica,

We’d like to thank you for handling this situation, even though you are not in charge of it.

I’d wish people can stop being pissy, and use their brains to understand you don’t have any say in this.

Again, thank you for putting up with this “hogwash.”

So not a transfer, but now you can switch between Xbox and PC WT client without transferring.

This has been the case anyway. There has been nothing stopping console users from playing on PC client. The Transfer is needed to access the Marketplace. I’m not sure how this new thing affects that access though.

Considering people are still using a Microsoft Account in these instances, acces to the Marketplace would still be not allowed.

Yes, but it was a hassle beforehand, now you can just use the Microsoft Store on PC instead. Making it far easier to use with the Game-pass and on Windows 10/11 too.

So then for the purposes of transfer and ability to play on PC nothing has changed.
It’s just an additional way for console players to access the game on PC.

How was it a hassle? (i don’t use console so i don’t know :P )
Isn’t is just: Download WT client, login with console account using web login option?

Essentially yes, it’s a good consumer friendly change.

Oh I was comparing it to the older methods, which were far more time-intensive. You used to have to go through several webpages and log-ins to play on PC with a Microsoft accounts, and it could also not work. Nowadays the people I know don’t have an issue with that anymore (my brother uses a Sony Account and a friend of mine uses Microsoft).

Evidently the Marketplace is still barred entry for third-party War Thunder accounts (the third parties have different ToS, so the Gaijin marketplace and Gaijin themselves would have to change ToS I believe, together with the % Cuts that Microsoft and Sony would take, which is obviously against the intrest of Gaijin.)

Ok so first of all, the AI idea was not great but it was an idea. Also, I just think that if they hav done this before, they can do it again. I understand that sony/microsoft are a problem but before, when the transfer was open, that wasn’t. WE all want to transfer our account but the problem is that there are more and more peaple so just open it like 1 week you take peaple, the week after you close it and focus on the transfer and finally you re open and do this again and again. Like this you won’t have to do all in one time but on several occasions.

I agree

Just as a heads up- this doesnt work. It still acts the same as the warthunder client version of the game with a console account on pc so no marketplace or packs :(… really annoying because i at least wanted to see packs but hey ho lets just wait another year for gaijin to fix the transfer system.

yeah, it’s still limited because of the Microsoft aspect. The biggest difference are the customisation options available, so now it should be easier to use WT Live stuff, such as language mods. You could do this before, but it’s just easier to log-in now.

Hey. Im just wondering something. I have a playstation account and I really want the CT CV 105HP. Im trying to get it from the new cases but the chance of doing so is so slim and 3/4 times of me getting a vehicle ever has been boats. (That i never use anyways)
Is there any way I can get it elsewhere?

Stop wasting your money on the crates. The chances of getting a vehicle are like .003% per crate, and then Gaijin didnt care enough to program the crates to prevent you from getting the same tank over and over again. Youd also have to spend somewhere around 30 million in SL just to attempt to have a chance to get anything decent.

Dude, it literally is as easy as alot of us here have pointed out.

ALL that is being done is copying data, which Gaijin already does and has programs to do.
They have a program that already automatically creates accounts.
All they need is a copy program to copy progress data from the console account to the pc account.
Which since they already know how their “save files” are structured writing the program to move the data is simple.

Pretty much sums it up.

Guys, the microsoft (xbox) player gonna be happy, they just release a “buf” for this player. Take a look at the video I just saw on instagram.
You don’t have acces to the market but you can have every pack and thing like this.
